Shouldn't we sign it with "TEAM" rather than "Team TEAM"? It is pretty cool to be named TEAM.

I know you're serious. That's why I can't wait. I am willing to help "craft" some of those diplo messages. Such as (NSFW):

And we have our first real response:
Quote:Greetings, TEAM!
Sorry for the slight delay in responding. Work can be quite busy as all of you know.
We're of a similar mind when it comes to diplomacy.
Here is the information we'd like to share with you.
- You guys are the first team we've met.
- The land we've scouted between us is very green and resource rich. Exactly the land you want to fight over.
- We're not big on NAPs, and aren't interested in signing one this early. We trust you guys aren't the sort to go kamikaze and try to ruin our game with a worker snatch. "That being said, if you do fuck with us we will drag you along with us to the depths of hell. (Dave quoted)"
We're interested in building up a nice and friendly information sharing relationship and hope to hear your thoughts on this soon.
Cheers,
Nakor
Team Pirates
I would propose we offer the following:
1) You are the first team we have met.
2) The land everywhere seems lush so far.
3) We are willing to exchange screenshots with resource bubbles on.
4) We haven't discussed whether TEAM is agreeing to NAPs at all, but if you change your mind, we will discuss it. We might tell Parkin we have NAPs with everyone, and then refuse to sign one with him, just for giggles.
5) If the tone of TEAM's first correspondence didn't make it obvious, we have no intentions of picking a fight with you. Our wrath will be directed at others, and down to hell they shall go.

I agree with all of those.
Should we lay the foundations for working towards a settling agreement once more map knowledge etc is known?

Anyone have any problem with me sending any of those six points above?
Gaspar Wrote:Pretty much 100% agree with this. I also didn't entirely like the tone of their email back - that's Nakor though, he loves to hedge. If Nakor is going to be the diplo arm of Team Pirate I'm willing to take a more active role in the discussion since I know him pretty well from playing with him twice.
I agree with this.

Then say we don't like the tone of their diplo, and point out that Nakor sucks at it.

I sort of agree with Krill. I might send them something like this.
Hey Pirates,
The land looks lush everywhere. We are open to cooperation on any and all levels, including screenshot trades and more. However, it's pretty obvious in your message that you don't know whether you want to cooperate or not. If we didn't make it clear in our first message we have zero interest in flowery language, bullshit hedging or basically anything Parkin would put in a diplo message. If that's cool with you guys, we can get along great and have a productive friendship. If you'd rather engage in verbal masturbation, we can add you to the "Go Fuck Yourselves" list with the others. Your call.
Regards,
TEAM

Are we trying to intimidate them or build relations? I approve of calling them out on their double speak, but I think overly aggressive language will make it hard to build relations with them. I'd get the point across with different language, same message.
