I still need AH and pottery, though not right right now - I am thinking of going priesthood and trying to snake oracle (or at least some fail gold) out from under C-H.

AH after that. Then either monotheism or Pottery after than that.

eastways picked up Buddhism. I'm going to go priesthood->AH->pottery->monotheism. Saving up cash for this turn.

been a few turns since I posted any screenies.

I have AH and horses are easily available.

I am about to get Priesthood - my guess is that can't get oracle, that I'm two or three turns behind, but it'll be close. It's worth a shot, at least. if I get it, then i have a good shot at pyramids and even collosus. And if I don't - no biggie. I make 9 hpt - can get it up to 12 pretty easily.

Found C-H - he is to my SW, has 2 cities and has writing. I just got pottery and need to consolidate a little (0 gold, -6 GPT at 100% science)

Cities:




Cap: Will grow and build oracle. if I get it, great - if not, I'll be big enough to whip a settler.



Say My Name - will whip in a worker, then go back to a warrior. Will grow up to either a settler or a forge (if I get oracle)



Felina - is kind of my front with a dangerous opponent (Rome), so will need to be able to build military. There's tons of hammers on this map, so not worried abotu being able to do build units.



I want to get another city down there, maybe on the irrigated grass hill. Something on a hill to defend against praets.




Demos - first in GPT is because I'm researching pottery with 3 pre-reqs, but 1st in hammers and food is good.

3rd in mil, but it's no big deal - I doubt anyone has even an axe yet - I'm sure it's mainly tech. In any case, 1 axe isn't going to do anything and I'll be able to whip in another one if I need.



To the SE, down to B4ndit. Deer and fur abound!!

Get pottery, save up cash for masonry->Monotheism. Hope I get monotheism - if I miss that, it's kind of a pain in the ass.

so, the pic doesn;t show it well, but that's 9 hammers in oracle, out of 100. I'm now making 10 HPT, so in 5 turns, I'll have 60 hammers from building, plus I should be able to get 3 chops in, to make 100 hammers. So, I'll get it in 6 turns, unless i'm beat (which there's a good chance I'll be, since it's possible someone got priesthood 5 turns before me).

I noticed this awhile ago, but didn't mention it:



B4ndit set up these two cities quite a ways apart - I mean, the 2nd city is something like 6 or 7 tiles from the cap, which is very loose spacing.

3 turns to Monotheism, 5 to oracle.

C-H is up to 3 cities - eastway has writing.

Demos show me falling behind in soldiers, which is worrisome, particularly as I'm tops in score. Guess it's time to put some hammers into axes...

2 turns to monotheism, 4 to oracle, but with chops, it's really 2 turns to oracle.



ozy has 62 hammers in it - at 11 HPT, that's 2 builds and 2 chops, or 3 buils and a chop or 4 builds.

Here's a question - these two screen shots seem to be in conflict:



implies that B4ndit has only 2 cities.



This one seems to imply that he has 3 - I don't see how the culture can mean any thing else.

Any thoughts? is it just a glitch somewhere?
