No one in the Calabim empire thirsts for blood. It is a false rumor. There is no such thing as blood magic, merely propaganda thrown up by those of the lower classes who don't yet know their place.

Believe it or not, this game is actually still limping along. And something newsworthy actually happened this turn.

Elsa?
Do you want to build a army?
C'mon lets fight.
I never see you anymore,
come out the fog,
it's like you've started winning!
We used to be best teamates,
and now we're not,
I wish you would let me in. [to kill you]
Do you want to build an army?
It doesn't have to be all warriors.

Bravo!

I did get two more cities this turn. He's got to be nearly naked behind them, too, given the state of the power graph and his typical playstyle. Yet...I may not be able to exploit that. Lost six Moroi to get those two cities, and another three Moroi went barb. Combine that with the losses to break his front city, and I'm already running low on units here.
I've got full-bore production going in all my cities, but it's going to take a little while for them to get to the front, perhaps long enough to let HK scrape up some reinforcements.
Still, seems worth it. HK needed a setback if he wasn't going to just run away with the game. I've got a third of his empire so far, and may be able to manage some more. And I'm definitely certain that waiting wouldn't have made the attack work any better - eventually he always converts his economic lead into a military one. Had to go before he got around to that.

Wow, well done Mardoc. Is HK war with someone else also or just having most of his units spread out or just not having that much of military? It seems like you're rolling into his territory like there was nothing to stop you.

That one.
He had something like eight bronze warriors in the border city, then seven between the next two. Good enough to prevent opportunism, but, well, I had 20 Moroi. Who all had at least Burning Blood by the time they attacked, if not also a combat promo.
Bronze warriors are the most efficient hammer-strength thing there is, but he didn't invest nearly as much as I did. Definitely a mistake, given how far ahead he was from his worldspell and yell0w's attack on me. He definitely had time to see my buildup on the Power graph, too - must have assumed I'd be going after Yell0w instead of him. He should at least have built the Priests of Winter by now.
As it stands - well, I'm Commando, have more production, more military, and have access to his roads. So I'm pretty optimistic from here out. Even though he is definitely ahead in tech.
It's a typical HK gameplan. He likes to run very low on military at first, get way ahead in tech, and crush you with better units. Could have worked, if Yell0w's attack had been just a little more successful.

Could we get some pictures of the new front?
Has anyone got drama? When are you planing to fit in feudalism?

Maybe. I don't have as much time as I used to, especially at my civ computer. Most of that time's going to actually play the turns.
Now, for instance, I'm stealing a couple minutes at work, but obviously I can't do screenshots here.

Don't have trade yet, so I can't be sure - but HK got Sanitation farms somehow, and I did see a Great Bard born in the log. So I'm pretty sure that's what he was doing instead of building an army.
Feudalism - well, I'm headed that way now. But I need to research Writing and Trade as prereqs. It should go faster once I find some spare hammers to throw at econ, but I don't want to risk coming up short against the Illians. Call it 20-25 turns away yet, depending on how the war goes. I really hope this war is over before I make it that far; wait and see how it goes.

I really should consider picking up Construction to make that actually true. All these rivers keep being speedbumps for me. Still, it does mean I'm doing a lot of damage before HK can really react.
He's in Slavery, so I expect I'll need to pause sooner or later. Not that whipping warriors is something you want to do, but it looks like he needs to.

Just wanted to say thanks for updating! I had almost entirely forgotten this game was still running.
