I daren't really, I know the map so that really comes under spoiler scrutiny but I think even a global lurker that has seen that game should post about the many pitfalls that occur.
I think if he rush out a second city at size 2 he could get it settled T30 easily, but only 1 worker. Easy to time religion founding in second city though. If he rushed out to BW though, he can get that T18. Honestly, I'd consider growing to size 4 and then double whipping the settler, get a bit more commerce and try to maximise the chances of getting religion in there.
EDIT: Still, I wouldn't pick PHI. Prophet bulbing is just generally crap. Maybe IMP, maybe FIN, not CHM with that start. But he will not have much choice given his position, really.

Hey Krill, has Gavagai got another food in the fog or are those lighthouse lakes the resource? Shown his screenshot I'd be tempted to settle for the silver...
I haven't read this PB3 prophet-Buddhism-bulb, whose thread should I look at?

I'm not rehashing PBEM50. I've told Gavagai the game settings, he could roll a few maps or even read thte thread to know he has 2 food resources. I considered telling him there are two food resources in his BFC but I think that's unfair to the others, and frankly Gavagai should have done some due diligence.

To be fair even with the nerfs Egypt is at least a decent pick, he needs Agri, Wheel is full cost (60), UB provides functionality can't get elsewhere and UU is, well, it works at least. Just gotta point him away from an Obelisk at the capital and get him to play a good first 30 turns and see what happens.
hope you don't mind newbie questions here. What's the pitfall about Obelisk in the capital, is it forever diluting the GP pool with prophet score?

It's a total waste of 30 hammers that should be put towards more important items such as workers, settlers and warriors. It should go in second city where the culture is at least relevant and the priests should only be run once religion is founded or the plan is in place to bulb a religion. Anything else will crush expansion too much.

This.
And it's more than 30 hammers for the Obelisk. Working two 0f/1h/1c tiles instead of two grass cotts or two mines costs food/hammers/cottage growth every turn. Running specialists too early gimps expansion and land development. As Krill said, it should only be done when there is a plan in place to make use of the resulting Great Person.
