Definitely. I ran into this in Adventure 3.

So uh, you know your Yggdrasil city was named Thordin and not Thorgrin, right? For Thor and Odin.

You can build as many corpses as you want, just put all four eidolons somewhere at the end of the building queue.

I won't be building them just yet, so no need to put them in building queues. T139: Way of the Wise splashscreen: I set research to Hono(u)r, and dial up research to 80%, so I can grab it in a turn. I'll use the free Ecclesiast to convert Lugh to Empyrean, since it is a hammer heavy city with only one religion (more chance to convert). Checking the events screen confirms Darrell managed to get rid of Stephanos. The Power graph shows a sharp drop for the Calabim, so it does seem to have cost them a couple of Vampires. And we finally get the Undercouncil resolution vote: I considered not proposing anything, but then I decided to pick the free sage. It will mostly help the Calabim, as I suspect Darrell will use him to fire off a Golden Age. Diplo points with the Calabim, why not. I'm also not very familiar with the other options... ![]() I whip out a Beast in Horus: And switch back to a Ritualist. Reasons: 1) I don't have a Thane at the ready to culture bomb the city so it doesn't get the 4 turn of disorder. 2) I will finish them once I've made the Civics switch, so the Beasts of Agares will start with a couple of promotions. An overview map: You see a Lanun [strike]spy[/strike] Hunter in the bottom right corner snooping around my borders. I wonder if he can see the Eidolons near the capital from there, if he moves in a Hawk. Ra will whip out its Beast next turn, and switch to another build as well. En-Kai will finish the Beast naturally. I'd like to build two Beasts in this city, because every unit built starts with the Stigmata promotion, thanks to the AV shrine. Stigmata gives a unit a % bonus, based on half of the Armageddon Counter. Considering the AC is at 45 already, and will hit 50 soon enough, having every unit start with a straight 25% combat bonus is nothing to sneeze at. I am reaching the end of the Malakim infrastructure phase. Most of the large cities have a Library/Moneylender/Granary/Smokehouse/AVTemple, or in the process of finishing them. As soon as get Religious Law, I will make the switch to Theo/StW/Apprenticeship/Conquest and start spamming double promoteable Corpses, who will get Enchanted Blade from an Adept. At 60 hammers, they are cheaper than Champions, Strength 8 thanks to Iron Weapons. I think most of the larger cities should be able to pump out one every two turns. As mentioned before, this will also allow me to pump out 8 exp Savants, who will hopefully reach 10 exp pretty quickly, so I can upgrade them to Mages once Sorcery is in. On the downside, this will hurt my finances. I have zero cottages, and am relying on Aristofarms to keep my tech rate this high. But this is the only way I can think of to get an army out double fast. I still have a health lead on most of the opposition (the Elves are closest I think), and I'll switch back to Aristograrianism when the ten turns are up. I'd need to check if I can take the food loss, but I might switch to Empyrean before those ten turns are up so I can build some Radiant Guards/Rathas for crowd control. And lastly, a picture of the Calabim, finishing their first Death node: Gonna need Life 2 mages to feel safer soon...
At least four turns played this weekend, but not much time to update.
I did find the ideal Malakim battle hymn though. For the linguistically impaired, the chorus translates as "Here comes the sun". |
