civstats should still work with the amount of players here so the portal setup can be done later.

The observer though needs some testing; I had sent a test file for Caledorn to test but I had some issues with the setup and need to resubmit the observer files; I'll be trying to get in touch and have that up and running for a test today.
Yeah, I would rather wait and have everything tested and good than have it bomb after a couple of turns.
The Observer mod section of the RtR mod is working fine, inasmuch as it doesn't stop the game from running. It may have errors in there that stop it providing viable data to be interpreted by the web front end though, but PB18 ran all the way to the end with it enabled, it was just never used.
tl;dr it's not a concern for playing the game, it's a concern for lurkers.
On the whole matter of starting the game: Will the first turn be longer (like 36 or 48h) or do we start with the standard amount (how much that may be, 26 hours I think?)
whenever it starts the first turn will be longer, likely equating to 48 real hours. that should suffice to allow everyone time to log in, check settings, claim their civ, etc.
Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Caledorn got back in touch, he's got a cold but we should be able to get testing done sometime soon.
Here is RtR mod 3.0.0.4. It has a changed entry in a GlobalDefines.xml file for the observer mod, specifying what folder the stored data is placed into compared to 3.0.0.3. It is identical to the RtR 3.0.0.3 mod in all other respects. RtR 3.0.0.4 is going to be used for this game unless someone comes along and identifies another bug in the system.
