Hey, I am back after two weeks and see ..... no progress at all.
Looks like ZPV went missing from a lot of places. So hopefully he is ok.
Thanks to Elkad for taking over.

Hopefully all other players/teams are still aware of the game and interested in playing.

Here is the issue Sullla (and all) - apparently there is no Admin password. I didn't know how it worked, so I left it blank. I assumed that just created a blank password, but it seems like it has instead made no password at all. It seems our best hope at this point is for someone with the ability to edit a save file to do so and turn on Takeover AI.

Since nothing is working, here is one more thing I can think of: Start guessing ZPV's password. Does CIV has any limitation on number of unsuccessful password attempts? Also, what are the other games that ZPV got involved? Does anybody know passwords of those games? May be we could start generating a pattern.

If I may make a suggestion...we ought to consider ending the game if we can't get ZPVs' password. We played for, what, 10 weeks to get to the point before the stopping of play. It was fun, I'm pretty sure we all enjoyed it, but it's not entirely unreasonable to shelve this one and start another (with back up plans to stop this from happening!)

I don't want the game to end, but I'm not entirely sure that there are any mutually acceptable options for continuing if we can't get a human to take over ZPVs' civ. I don't really want to play on if we have to use an AI, or we just delete the civ, or even update the original worlbuilder file to show everything that we already have (particulary because that completely screws up so much of the game).

I thought we had a human (Elkad) to take over but are now trying to work out how to do it? i.e. Getting into ZPVs civ and changing the password?

I agree with Krill that we should consider ending the game if we cannot successfully replace Zpv with a human player. I hate to waste the great map but I dont see playing with an AI as a good option.

I agree that if we can't replace ZPV we should just end the game. It looks like we need to edit the save either to modify his password or enable the "allow takeover of AI civs" option. Can someone post on civfanatics to figure out if this is possible?

My preference:

1) Find a way to let Elkad take over for ZPV.

2) Play with AI.

3) Scrap game.

4) Worldbuild around the issue, since it's such massive work.

That said, I don't think Krill makes bad points.

There is a program to edit save settings but it only works for Vanilla and Warlords. They changed the save format for BtS and no one updated that little utility.
