Dreylin states that they are going for alphabet...

So either ZPV or Regoarrarr is doing maths...Hope it isn't Regoarrarr...but if we can get deals in place of IW+small techs for Monarchy+rel techs, and for alpha, that's solid for us.

Update from Sunrise, he wants us to meet regoarrarr and is going to facilitate it via coordinating our and Regoarrarrs' warrior moves. I think we should meet sometime this turn at the earliest, and in 2 turns at the latest.

*Prays that this turns into a 4 player alliance*

Update for domestics: Worker 5 due end of this turn (t46), Terrace in AA due eot t47, city 3 settled 233 of AA on the plains hill built t53 (see world map a few posts back) sharing cow with BB and has it's own plains sheep. It'll be a cottage city at small pop sizes, graduating up to 7 cottages and a few grass hills. AA will be size 5 t52, 6 around t56.

Erm...What happened the food?

http://i554.photobucket.com/albums/jj417...sefood.jpg

C'mon, that's, just shabby Sullla tongue Even if the RNG makes land like that, you should at least make it habitable. A couple of low food food res would have helped that land. Or is that quality of land the typical layout in this game scared

It's a big map. If you think I'm going to pass through all those thousands of tiles and make sure there's a food bonus in EVERY little river valley, you're barking up the wrong tree. smile

Met Regoarrarr. Now the real diplomacy begins...

OK, so here I am, hoping that Regoarrarr is researching Maths. The aim would be to trade for:

  1. Writing and Maths off Regoarrarr, for HBR and 180 beakers worth of tech.
  2. Alphabet off Dreylin for HBR and 75 beakers worth of tech
  3. Meditation, Archery + other small tech off Broker for HBR
  4. Monarchy, Priesthood, off Sunrise for HBR and AH + 15 beakers worth of tech (IOU)

I think Sullla gave everyone elephants, in which case HBR has solid resale value as it is needed for War Eles. I think Sunrise will take such an offer, and so will Broker if I give him a decent wedge of beakers (and a promise to buy IW off him in future maybe, as he said he was thinking of going that way after getting fishing and another starting tech IIRC). Dreylin & Kalin, I'm not so sure about, but I think they'll accept if I offer something like Sailing, and Regoarrarr, well, I have to hope he is going for maths.

I also have to hope none of them have deals lined up for HBR, but I think alot of people won't be heading that way quite so soon.

Anyone, today looks to be full of wheeling and dealing, which I'm looking forward to...

And contact has been made; I'm sure regoarrarr has updated his thread somewhat better than this one, probably with the full email.

Think I have a deal in place with Broker, where:

WH (The Winnepeg Hedgmony, which suits our northern Locale) gives: HBR, Sailing
Broker gives: IW, Meditation, Masonry.

Regoarrarr said he would reply tonight, which is cool. Need to catch sunrise if at all possible, and Dreylin now, see what they think.

Got lucky agian last turn: Wandering Minstrel #2 (Q2) got attacked by a bear on flat land. I thought he was toast, but turns out he had 66.2% odds, and survived at 5hp.

Sick or what?

Quote:Krill,

We decided it would be best if we clarified our tech trading positions to you so that you can make the best tech decisions for your civ without letting us give you any false ideas. First, both of our civs value close and friendly relations with our neighbors. We hope we can continue to share news and thought of the map, and point our units towards new contacts.

However you've offered both of us several tech proposals, which have generally been quite fair. Unfortunately after looking over the tech tree closely we're not sure any early tech deal is going to make sense, except for possibly trading for some cheaper techs in the first couple columns. Before either of us met you we have already made some provisional deals with other civs to trade for several techs. At this point our trading partners have confirmed they are on board. Therefore we believe we have most possible trades lined up.

Anyways, we wanted to share this with you so that you could make informed choices about your tech path.

-League of Lin and sunrise

Bad mistake Sunrise...Q1 doubled back and is going to choke Sunrise, as a woody 2 Quechua. Sunrise has what I think is the lowest power at 21k, so hopefully we can nab a worker or two, and just slow him down. Might even get insanely lucky and find sunrise has left his cap empty, but I seriously doubt that. We are researching HBR, planning to get city 4 down to use the fish and the corn, and settle EE, city 5, to overlap the corn, and take the cows and horses way to the south towards Dreylin and Sunrise, then hit Dreylin with 5+ HA to ruin his day. (I assume Sullla has posted a worldmap in the None players thread for people to look at).

We don't expect to win this war (personally I fully expect to lose), but frankly we'd rather have a little fun screwing up the paper defenses people tend to run and make this little corner of the world a more entertaining place for you, the readers, than piss about, get outteched then lose.

DaveMcW was right when he said that either you are allies or enemies; there isn't a middle ground. Now it's time to teach people that idea, so hopefully Sunrise, Dreylin and Kalin understand that either you appease everyone and run a paper military or expect something interesting to come your way. I reckon this'll be my last FFA though, pretty annoyed at getting ganged up upon.
