Hah, well that post partially illustrates while I don't really understand why the game has a devoted following. Besides finding a lot of the actual diplomacy work distasteful on a personal level, the game itself is poorly balanced and I don't get the impression that a lot of thought went into the map. Like, the T/A/I/R Clusterfuck region of the map in the Balkans seems equivalent to a Civ PBEM mapmaker who decides to squeeze half the players really close to each other, but then tries to make up for it by scattering a ton of gems and gold resources in the land between them.

Well you have to keep in mind that this was the FIRST game like this. That's a huge advantage.

I don't know enough about this game to comment on the rest of your post. But if it's true the flaw isn't enough to overcome being FIRST (7-way draw is rare).

I've made my choice. I've re-read my TT correspondence and I feel that he is truthful about backstab scooter after this is over. If not then I still wouldn't backstab Rowain. I will be able to take my cake and eat it to if TT is telling the truth (scooter/gaspar will be pissed when TT backstabs them and I get to write a letter taunting them after they die).

Allowing my army into VIE again is not a mistake as if I stab Rowain--it's over anyway. So ignore that when I post the CC.

I really don't like scooter and gaspar after making that threat to me. It's typical for someone who doesn't attack other people directly--overselling your hand by thinking the situation is more serious than it is. Attacking people by it's self isn't a big deal. I felt condescended to.

I have to think of what to do if TT stabs me and goes with scooter. Would I hold the line or give my SC's to TT to make sure scooter loses?

If you did that on I would insist that I or you make a supported attack into BUL (probably I take BUL so you can defend RUM). Giving up the black sea is very pro-Turkish and makes me suspect that I've been played. So you have to attack Turkey this turn to prove you are with me and attacking BUL is they way to do it.


If this is a mod error then we just have to wait to see how scooter reacts. He'll probably guess that I'm with you so he'll join Austria but he might not tell you. We have to wait and see.

Oh TT said he was going to do something different just before deadline. (Attack RUM from Ukraine instead of supporting from Ukraine.) I thought that might have been a mod error but it turns out that he never sent that order.
