The current discussion is whether we should reactivate last year's league (people who participated before would not need to sign up again) or create a new one.

If we are looking for speed, reactivating the league is probably faster as you have the scoring system from last year already there, though you'll need to do some kicking and adapting for fractional points.

Its much of a muchness really.

In terms of draft order, the website will only randomise it one hour before the start of the draft. If you want to do it in advance, you'll need to random.org it and then have the commissioner enter it in manually.

My concern is that possible draft times will be unavailable due to load on espn's servers. I don't know if that would be the case with espn, but I do know that leagues I ran on yahoo were affected by that. Yahoo blocked out certain times after enough leagues chose to draft during that time.

I can start a new league on espn when I am back in front of my laptop. If you weren't in the league last year, pm me your preferred email address.

Edit: we can still decide on whom to elect as commissioner, I just feel getting the league registered is important to determine what slate of times are available on august 30.

Never been an issue on ESPN as far as I am aware over all the drafts I've done.

I created a league and it doesn't seem to be an issue, as TT and sunrise state.

If and when scooter has time, he can reactivate the league and transfer the commissioner's mantle to someone else. The new commissioner can remove the players who aren't returning and invite the new ones. Alternatively, we can go through the one I made. If we do that, I need everyone's email address as the addresses are hidden by ESPN, which I didn't realize before.

I've reactivated it - you should have all receieved an email and automatically joined. I'm trying to figure out how to transfer commissioner powers as well as change to decimal scoring.

What time are we going with for the live draft?

Also, it automatically stuck us in the same divisions as last year. Though divisions didn't mean a ton for us, I would recommend someone re-randomize it just for variety's sake.

Ok, I assigned LM powers to both wetbandit and Sunrise. I can't actually remove my own, so if we decide on one person to run the show, they can remove me.

It may be a good idea for two people to have LM powers, though, in case of someone disappearing.

TRIPLE POSTING.

So I've done the following:

1) Added wetbandit and sunrise as having commissioner powers.

2) Added decimal scoring to standard ESPN scoring - so the only change from last year is that every 5 passing yards are now worth .2 points (works out to same 1 pt per 25 yards as last year), and rushing/receiving yards are .1pt/yard (works out to same 1/10 as last year). Everything else is standard.

3) Set live draft date/time to August 30th (this Saturday) at 10:30PM EDT. For a semi-handy reference, here's a converter: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/co...136&p4=171

There wasn't a consensus on actual time, I just went with roughly what we did last year - giving a buffer for the west coast folks.

Finally, the system is able to auto-randomize draft order, but that won't happen until 1 hour before draft. Alternatively, we can have someone not in the league randomize one for us and enter it manually (snake pick), that way you have more time to think about your draft plan. I think we should do this - did it last couple years and it was helpful.

So, how do I join, since I wasn't in the league last year?
