@BGN It's a bit annoying that I've had to read comments like that from people who clearly never even read my PB18 thread or knew how I played in that game.
I suppose haters and ignorance go hand in hand.

I think he just said that neighboring open land was preferable to neighboring you, so I don't think that's an insult! I don't think anyone really wants to start next to you in a game anymore and I'd consider that a compliment.

While that may be true, PB18 isn't the game to draw that conclusion from. Jowy did try the peaceful approach in that game. It was HAK who didn't want to play ball that time around.

Take the comment how you will, I didn't start my PB18 postgame reading with your thread. I'm sure you have a longer track record than one game. You guys had a tiny island so it was always going to be war between you. Maybe I meant from an earlier game with a less patient, passive Jowy?

Why is von Adlercreutz-TaoTao's start so different having no sea food?

Judging by PB18, religion-first is not the best way to get a shrine . The best way is to have your neighbor go religion first.

Not all the starts have seafood. the start each have 2 main food resources, some of those include a sea resource and some do not.

My mistake, 4 out of 23 have a no-seafood start. But the von Adler's start is still so differrent.

I have no idea how good of a player Sertoa is, and have heard nothing about him/her, so I'm putting in a low-middle value under the assumption that they're on par with me.

I don't suppose someone should be a good sport and mention that doing a little player scouting isn't a terrible idea?
