So I F-ed up again. Lost a whole lot of phracts for almost no result. I may have lost the game in 2 turns of reckless attacks.

Interesting, Dreylin ninja razed a barely defended Pickle city near me from his carrack, and offered me a dye-for-spice trade offer. If it avoids my annihilation by Pickle's rifles I'm all for it.

I had to declare war on Pickle this turn, and propose a 10t peace treaty. I'm in a tight spot, with him and Dreylin having 8 more turns of enforced peace and Pickle's cavs on my doorstep.
This also delays my conquest of George Burley.

I have a plan. In a few turns (4 ?) my great artist will be arriving near G Burley. What I'll do is : have workers ready to road the rile NE of the city, culture bomb the city, use the cats I didn't use on the city (so between 5 and 7) to soften up the rifle and cavs, and use the phracts I didn't use on Burley to launch a preemptive strike at the cavs.

In the east, good news : Pickle retreated.
Now let's attack while sacrificing as little catapults as possible.
first non cat : 65.9%, loss
second battle : 68.3%, loss
36.5%, loss
66.2%, win (finally)
50%, loss
68.1%, loss
71.9%, loss
73.8, flawless win FINALLY
After that all 80% + and won (but barely)
It made me more angry than what Pickle did in the west.
He took C2C.
And my grenadiers were in Fauré, ie 4 tiles away. So I couldn't retake the city right away...
Infrastructure lost (including national epic), lots of GPP lost (I was a few turns away from the next one). From now on I guess I'm rooting for Dreylin.

Interesting, Pickle proposed white peace (meaning he'd keep Barbara C2C and that city in GE's territory). I was in a position to recapture Barbara, so I refused, retook the city, and proposed peace for C2C. I'd lose GE's city but that's ok. I doubt he'll take it but I think I hurt him a lot (a cav stackwipe north of GE's land, many cavs killed in the cities he captured from me) : maybe he'll have something reasonable to propose.
Edit : oh and Dreylin is about to take GE's last city, so I'll soon be rid of lots of war exhaustion and of GE's culture. So I don't see a good reason to make peace with Pickle without a good deal.

Made white peace with Pickle, losing C2C and Neil Warnock. I have enough ways to develop my empire that I think it's a win overall. Also I don't see how pickle can make any use of C2C, it's completely inside my culture.

A silver popped at my production city, ie the only place where you don't want silver to pop out. Oh well I can still 1t cannons and grens so it's ok

Dreylin is nice, he offered me whale this turn
Oh and the silver pop means I'm 1h short of 1 turning cannons and grens every turn. I might have to not use it until the city grows in 9t

My two best grens, starting the attack against GE's last city :
vs longbow 65% LOSS
vs longbow 65% FLAWLESS LOSS
I'm sick of bad rolls.
End of story 2 grens and 3 phracts lost, I think attacking this turn was a mistake.
