The turn went about as well as it could do. If I'd prepared better then maybe could have offered the ceasefire this turn, but that's about it. I might delay the GA a turn to see if we get the ceasefire, or 2 turns to see if we get peace and OB.

I'll have to look at tech path as well...there is an argument for using the GE for Oxford, and using the artist for the GA.

Nothing much to report, but I had significantly less free time than I thought. I didn't trigger the GA. OH offered a peace treaty when I logged in, but I cancelled that, took Jealous Sound and reoffered a ceasefire. I am not sure he will take it, but at the same time, there isn't really a reason not to because the other option is we stay at war and OH has to put pressure on me to make me sign a peace treaty. And if he does that, then he isn't attacking Lewwyn. So I think he takes the ceasefire and pushes on for Chemistry and doesn't attack Lewwyn even if he doesn't like it.







No defender, no combat.





Pop borders, chop the forest for the granary, 3 workshops, court house, lighthouse and done.





Note the galleons are blockading in multiple spots. OH has no intention of leaving Lewwyn alone.





Could lose the privateer, or they could all be loaded with troops to retake the island if I didn't accept peace, or loaded to attack Lewwyn if I did. Who knows.

Continuing to stack up military to pop out once in Vassalage next turn. I know, I know, delaying Merc even a single turn costs me, but I need another day to figure out how to use the GA.

I'll play the turn tomorrow, but it looks like OH is not taking the hint. I'll need to figure out how fast I can get Astro, Construction, Engineering, and Gunpowder Chemistry with no bulbs, or if I just want to drop hammer on his core and raze everything.

I reckon that I might end up pushing 1k base bpt in a GA with wealth builds, but that would push out all the techs in 8 turns, except Chemistry. But I would have the third GA just around the corner.

Or I could just push around 700hpt into military. And I already have 37 Knights out. 100 Knights to the core?

No update tonight. I'm shattered. Try to put some stuff up tomorrow morning but I may not have access to a PC, in which case, I'll do it either Wednesday night, or Thursday when I'm off.

The tl;dr is simple: I can't compete with OH in frigate production, so there is no point in racing him to Chemistry. I'm already on the same landmass as him, so it's SoD and death to one of us. If I wanted to push beakers, from T170 (ie the turn I will play on Wednesday night) then I can get around 1.1K base beakers, and I could have Engineering eot170, Gunpowder eot172, and Astro eot175 due to overflow and KTB multipliers. The then third GA can come some time around T182-ish. But it's better to build military with the over 750 adjusted hpt and just outproduce OH, and use privateers to disrupt him. OH gets forced to go to Chem, but then has to build frigates and land military, and at some point he'll collapse. I'm not joking when I say I can have over 100 units ready to invade by the end of this GA.

Pretty much.

I have misplayed this since OH started the war with DZ, but at the same time, this war was going to be hard to stay because of the scouts in front cities. A two stage war does actually solve this problem, but I've mangled the logistics horrendously.
