Zakalwe has killed his second goblin after a longer fight with a wooden axe. he is getting better and better!
Uberfish is now our Baron and demands a proper tomb, which the dwarves are currently constructing. He has now become incredibly lazy as well, refusing to manage the work orders. I have assigned Harmless to take over the job as a manager. Gustaran has finally dug through to the area where the iron ore is, so steel production is not far away. Dicorion is still not fully healed but much better than before. And then a goblin ambush happens! Marksdwarves to the walls! Axedwarves get ready defend the gate! All civilians inside, pronto! mh

Oh what a mess! The civilians all meet in the dining room. So far so good.
The marksdwarves man the eastern wall. The axedwarves are ordered into the tower. For some reason Zakalwe thinks taking a stroll outside with his wooden axe is a good idea. While the melee goblin squad approaches from the east, Zakalwe finds a second goblin squad including a crossbow-goblin in the west and gets promptly slaughtered! ![[Image: zakalwedead.png]](http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/6963/zakalwedead.png) So much for my best trained fighter! The marksdwarves actually forgot to bring any bolts and are sitting at the wall staring at the goblins! Thank god the dwarven caravan is still around and a couple of guards storm out to fight the goblins. Three goblins are caught in the traps and the guards injures a few more before also suffering heavy wounds. Our own axedwarves are in complete disarray! VM just stormed after the caravan guards but his lack of skill showed immediately: ![[Image: vmdeath.png]](http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/1201/vmdeath.png) Merovech followed VM outside and actually did some damage. Thinking that the battle finally goes our way, I order the remaining axedwarves to assist Merovech. Merovech killed two of the attackers and attacked the sole crossbow goblin at the end as well. The goblin actually jumped away from the attack but to the wrong side and fell into out moat, where he got hit by a few bolts from the caravan guard and disappeared beneath the waves colouring the water red. The remaining goblins fled and I order the civilians outside to loot the bodies and retrieve the fallen! That did not go as planned. Especially the marksdwarves were a complete fail. Not sure why their quivers were all empty. mh

One year old Jowy was taken by a strange mood and has locked himself into a craftsdwarf workshop with some bones.
The result is rather meh, but ok for a one year old, I guess.  Molach is going to become the new trainer and will get the chance to kill some unarmed goblins. We have 4 goblin thieves and 5 goblin soldiers caged. ... The first goblin is dead. Expertly axed to death by Molach with Zakalwes old wooden training axe. I trade some animals from the elves. And continue to prepare Molach for fights against captured goblins. Uberfish has now a proper tomb (gold sarcophagus) but is still such a lazy noble, that I had to assign Gustaran the job of the broker. mh

So how old do dwarves need to be before they're not considered infants anymore? Is there a toddler stage? Childhood stage? Adolescence?
