The Spanish settled their fourth city this turn as well, going to 11 pop. The city claimed 9 land tiles. At a guess it's working a 2F tile right now, from the way that rival worst in food increased.
Another team has turned back on research - top GNP is up to 110.

After WPC I logged in and checked the war status. War weariness remained constant (at 14), but the average power had grown by 500.
Since there haven't been any messages about a great general yet, I think WPC must have updated a warrior to a dog or a spear with gold. A check at the aptmod site shows a huge drop in gold for them, so I take that as confirmed.

Someone's desperate. Shame we haven't seen any chariots from the German team; a dog-only army gets obliterated without spears.
Spear would only be +2000 power, but a dog is +4000, so it's a warrior --> dog soldier.

Someone's desperate.
I don't know if desperate is the right word, since the fighting is going on in German territory. But it's certainly good news.
I have to run.

They may just be overrating the value of upgrading units. A lot of newbies do that.

Thanks m_h!
That's a 5->4 whip - not great micro, that.

Agree.

The Germans whipped again, doing a 2-pop whip and lowering the total rival population with 42000. They're down to 11 pop over 5 cities, and as the rival worst in population with 45000 they have cities of 1 city of size 3 and 4 of size 2 now. The whip they did was a 4->2 whip.
They are also confirmed as the rival top in power, since that fell with 1000.
It's also fun to look how the life expectancy for your poor civizens rises the more you kill them off!

Heh. Now CFC logged in and whipped after they ended turn. Seems like we aren't the only ones who changes plans after ending turn.
CFC did a 4->2 whip, so rival total population fell with 42000, and rival total power fell with 1000. And the civizens must be masochistic too, since the approval rate rose with the whipping.
Another civ is revolting. No, not the old joke with the Germans who never ends turn. It's CivPlayers who is revolting, to Buddhism.
