Obviously you can't see if you keep covering your eyes!

It has begun, the RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS. It began skirmish-wise, with Tasunke clearing out the last of the 5-caravel scouting fleet. I'd call their sacrifice well, well worth it; they killed three caravels and two galleys (future galleons) and most critically, they sucked those victors out of position.

Hell of a lot of ships are about to die. Damn Civ4's naval mechanics, anyway.

The real battle, of course, is for the twitching corpse of Elkad. Sentry knight was moved second, stupidly...and this is what he saw. Tasunke finally brought a big enough hammer to smash Amsterdam to bits, oddly abetted by Donovan “Penny Packet” Zoi. He could then slam out his knights to kill our stack and shred into the lightly-held peninsula...so I offered peace for Cordon Sanitaire. Tasunke is a delusional maniac, so of course he won't take the peace, but it should focus him on a hit north...

...as indeed it did! Civstats told the tale; down goes Elkad and Cordon is gone, but he's looked north for one more critical turn. Now Dtay was checking tiles and sees we've got some galleons incoming so that will definitely be fun, but if we can just scramble enough catapults over I think we can hold what we've got in the fair peninsula.

As always, assuming the culture doesn't completely bug out :nervous:

We do, HAK and Tasunke are in the second half. I even settled a city, hoping that at least would work...

...:banghead: I think we are literally about to lose this entire peninsula due to this stupid bug.

He also sent an insulting offer for all the peninsula cities. Terrifyingly, I think it was sincere. I countered with what he could have reasonably been expected to take without exploiting the culture bug.

This is a one-time offer. If he forces us to cash in Liberalism on Astronomy, war to the knife.

He took it for 100 more gold. Now there are three contenders. nod
