Whosit: i'm happy to go along with that. I'm 50/50 on emperor generally, i've managed to win ONE immortal start but i swear everytime i try it's 'isolated start o'clock' (TM)
Anyhoo, yeah, all good points. I'd probly have gone Worker->Warrior->Worker->Settler BUT that sacrifices scouting bigtime. If you two want that extra warrior then so be it.
One key thing, please please please remind me/TT to switch to slavery once the settler is out. That's my achilles heel. I always get a mental block then have a hissy fit as i realise the moment i settle
Ok, i've had one other thought, and it won't be popular with TT but i just want to throw it out there:
we're philosophical and therefore could make VERY good use of representation. If we get a sniff of marble, maybe just maybe we could look at Oracle slingshot to metal casting, forge in Genesis (god knows it'll be a damned good location for it with it's insane hammer potential), hire engineer specialists- 10 turn GE - > rush pyramids. Yes it's a big task but if we pull that off it will be a MASSIVE plus for ages to come. All depends how long oracle lasts really. If it's similar to rbpb2 it's worth a look at even without marble.
Stonehenge is a hell no H20. C'mon, we're not that
Novice: yup, but to be fair it's totally understandable. As a lurker, i enjoyed going to threads where i would learn something. Let's be honest- this thread ISN'T that place.
However, and this may be a good time to point out my objectives in the game:
1) Have fun
2) Mock TT (incidentally this leads to point 1)
3) Not totally embarass ourselves
I think it's very easy to get bogged down in facts, figures, tables, pie charts etc etc and forget this is a game. It's about having fun. Note how i didn't list winning on my objectives. Granted, that's easy to say because some of the other players here are wowzers. Krill genuinely scares me. And i don't mean Babylon or Pericles, i mean me personally.
I intend to have as much fun as possible and try our best. I would like to be considered an actual factor in the game, as that certainly adds to the fun and i'll play my best, to try and achieve this.

And someone always must be last to end turn.
I have to run.

I think we really need that second warrior! We've seen in previous PBs that scouting is key, if only for trade routes and to build diplomatic relations early. And we can't forget Novice the Barbarian Hunter!

I agree that Representation is our best move if we can get it. The problem I have is that this Pyramid strategy relies too much on luck for my liking. The Oracle and Pyramids are the most desired early wonders and we are facing Industrious civs. If they have got a better start than us then we will be up against it. I really believe that we cannot get both, and I'd be surprised if we got either. It would cost a lot of chopping and deprivation of the military and we could get stomped.
I love the ambition of the plan, and if we had less civs with no Industrious leaders I could be swayed to it, but I think that we will waste a lot of time and production for too little reward.

Best thing you've said so far!
I am playing for fun too and I want to learn from good players and make a good fist of it. It will be great fun but I will get my revenge on the mocking front!

Well, that's kinda the flip side to it. IF we can get Oracle within a reasonable time-frame, we're very likely to beat anyone else to pyramids. Oracle is a cheap wonder so wouldn't cost many of our trees.
But, i agree this plan isn't anything amazing. It's just one potential avenue should the stars align in their favour. Heck, it'd be about time hehe.

Looks like we've had some good news at last! Our border's managed to show us that we have TWO WHOLE PEAK TILES nearby! Wahey. To be fair, they wont be in our borders regardless.

Turn 1 - Headaches R Us
Pericles the Clueless surveyed the land, and once again to the frustration of his remaining followers declared the land unsuitable for settling. What had started as a movement of the many had become the fumblings of the few, with many tempted away by the tempting siren calls of an almost mystical being, only known as 'Krill'.
All who remained was Pericles' trusted lieutenant and dance instructor Twinkletoes; his science (fiction) advisor Whosit; his fearsome Babylonian bodyguard, Novice - The Barbarian Hunter and his influential 'concubine' Kyan ![shhh shhh](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/shhh.gif) . They had followed Pericles for an age - if that had been the 'Age of Pericles' then they were going to have to bribe some historians to make it sound good!
In 4000BC, a distant hill was spotted with the promise of sheep and silver. As they stood on this hill they heard the words 'This will do' and began to make camp. However, Pericles being clueless, he declared that they must stand on that hill for twenty more years and then they could settle......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turn 2 - In the beginning there was the word (and the word was the bird... ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) )
Pericles, after twenty years of 'carefully surveying the land' (what he was looking for Zeus only knows!) finally decided that he couldn't be bothered moving any more, and at last he had a kingdom! All that time away from Greece had removed his passion for democracy and it was time for some whip-cracking dictatorship!
"But our King, what shall we name our capital?''
"Well along with my mystifying immortality, I have seen the future. We shall name the city Genesis! I have seen millions of people talking about Genesis many millennia from now, and I am sure they will be talking about this city!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry guys, I kind of got on a bit of a roll there and I found it amusing. If you don't like it then it's just a one off trial, if you do - I've found my place on the team!
In serious business - I have followed our plan to the letter and ended our turn. Worker will be done in 12 turns, Animal Husbandry in 14.
Enjoy

That was awesome! Love it TT.
Ont point for reference and lurkers-
in the above screenshot the warrior moved NORTH-EAST from our capital. Since the turn was reloaded, i mvoed the warrior NORTH instead. This was accidental however it yields absolutely no benefits. It reveals no more land whatsoever and, as you can see from previous posts, is just a stepping stone to moving onto the forested hill next turn.
I am happy to supply a screenshot as proof of this (that the LoS is not affected) but i'm sure a knowledgable lurker can back me up on this by looking at the terrain.

Thanks :-) I really enjoyed writing it and I think it will be a great USP to try and win some more lurkers and boost the post count!
And I was wondering who had done the turn when I read about the reload and seen it had already been done! Its OK about warrior, I went diagonal as I thought we may catch an extra tile but nope. Moving N is fine as again it makes no difference and either way we are aiming for hill next turn!
I hope everyone is looking forward to chapter 3!

At least it's going to be a fun ride!
You know, I imagine that we have many Lurkers, it's just that they don't all post . . . I think. I'm sure that good-humored posts like the ones most recent will draw some attention.
Anyway, I'm sure that my colleagues and I will continue to get along famously, and maybe we'll even agree on things now and again! I agree that number-crunching isn't the name of the game, but we probably want to keep our wits about us, since it wouldn't be fun to be totally squashed, either. :neenernee
Yeah, that's about all I got. We got a good way to share the Demographic information? Can it be converted to a Word document or something since the forum won't take Excel files?
Oh, and that Oracle plan is sheer insanity, but I'll entertain it if we actually find some Marble. I don't think we have a prayer, otherwise. Gotta make some gambles now and again, although we should probably focus on expansion and let our Creative trait do its work.
Signin' off, now.
Edit: I see that the Avatar uploading is working now! Let's give that a try. Right, Mr. Exeter?

Just a message for Kyan and Whosit - I will be at work from 6pm until 10pm tonight but unless Dantski ends his turn before 10, I will be there for the next turn.
If the turn rolls over before I get back, Kyan is free to make the agreed movement of Novice - Barbarian Hunter onto the three-hammer hill and take screenies. Once I've seen it I will write our Turn 3 chapter :-)
