Update Time

I have to admit, it has been that long I even forgot how to take screenshots bang

Ok so where do we start.

Since my last update 30 turns have been played and we are currently up to T105.

This is the map of my lands as I know it. It is the same land layout for all of us.

I don't know if you can see over to the west, but TT just lost a city to 2 barb axes yikes I can imagine him to be p!$$ed about that!

Anyway, from the map you can see I have managed to expand to 10 cities so far with quite a bit of room to expand further to my NE / SE and SW. There is land to the north over water too and a few islands to our south that could also be settled.

I am running HR / Slavery / OR civics at the moment and have converted to Christianity.

My capital is going to focus on military for now and ensuring my cities are well defended. We can't having any nasty axes start to appear and cause us any unneccesary harm. I may even consider running a few scientists to help aid research and get through the techs.

I am hoping to grow this city and grow some more. It is in here that I hope to generate most of my GPeople. The culture within this city is putting some pressure on one of TT's cities. I did agree not to try and put too much culture into here other than what I currently have.

My missionary city. I badly need some culture in thos e southern cities, so in the short term, my aim is to get them some faith! After that, it will go into military build.

A bit of a hybrid city. Focus is to cottage spam all around and use the hammers to help out on military after infra builds.

My northern city. Plan here is to turn this into a commerce city and with lack of food, not whip if at all possible.

Similar to Elland Road, I am hoping this city will be a bit of a hybrid between commerce and military with the hammers available.

Breaking the chain in my city naming theme, and the fact that Krill kindly left me an in game sign rolleye I had every intention of settling here, so in thanks to Krill for offering to cover whilst I am away I conceded the city to his beloved thugball team :neenernee

Thinking about it - have you got FA Cup tickets Krill?

Anyhow, back to game, once Brittania expands, I expect to grow grow grow here and again use the city pretty much as a commerce / military pump.

Moving further south I badly need culture down here. These are my expanding land fillers. I am beginning to realise, I would have probably been wiser filling the more greener lands further north than these southern spots. This city will be a more like a fishing village and will focus on commerce, and hopefully build some naval units to explore the lands south.

And finally my final city planted this very turn. Baseball Ground will be similar to Villa Park and is in bad need of some culture. I am reearching Sailing now so these cities can set to on a lighthouse.

I also plan to place Moai in either of these cities.

I did expect to be better off than I actually am, but hopefully in a few more turns once my cities grow things will look a little bit more rosier.


With regards to Diplo, I have screenshots but I shall try and remember what may have now disappeared.

I have had a good rappor with these guys. I know they are run away leaders and I am curious to see what the others are going to do about it. I know TT was partiularly keen on attacking them (or well it came across that way in his messages earlier game anyway). Thats good all said and done, but if they defend well, it could ruin both our games, and if we did succeed in damaging them, I or Ruff could possibly gain land wise, but how long before they turn on the next big guy??

TT has had either a bad opening gambit play attacking ad or has had some terrible luck, but either way he has left himself open as the weaker party and if I were to attack anyone, he would certainly be my first choice I think. With him attacking Ad early game, I feel I may even be able to get him onside and we share TT's lands to expand into should the need arise.

We have an agreed NAP with TT until T150 with 10 turn cooldowns waring also. It seems TT has an idea to expand to the other lands, whatever it may be for now. Thankfully this works for me for now as I don't have to explain why I have a no ROP clause to allow his troops anywhere near NSA territory.

I have not heard from Ad in quite a while. I think he may be ringleading the whole attack the big guy situation. I am playing along at the moment to secure the T150 NAP and hopefully by then be in a situation that we do not have to go along the lines of attacking NSA but maybe contemplate attacking TT at some point.

Finally Ruff. Not much to add to this really. Very little conversation or communication throughout the game.

Krill, are you ok to take over from 25th May through to 4th June?

I am around, but my evenings are getting packed with last minute wedding tasks. If you can take over a little earlier that would be great.

As requested, a brief update and plan of attack over the next 20 or so turns.
Sorry no screenshots as my laptop tends to overheat atm if I leave civ open too long and then it shuts down on me and I lose everything.

Calendar has just come in. Plan is to reserch currency next and get some markets built into my cities.

I am cottage spamming everywhere I can also.

There is also opportunity to fill out some more cities, 1 to the NE where I have a Chariot waiting which incidentally razed a barb city. I wanted to wait until it got to size 2 but Ruff came in and took out one warrior defender, leaving me no choice but to go in with my chariot and claim the pillage gold before he did.

I need more workers also, so will try and get them started before you take over. Cities are in growth mode where possible.

Cities down the south are on granaries/lighthouses. Probably whip these as soon as. Missionaries are also enroute for some culture.

NSA have just completed Great Library. They really are running away with this game.

I have NAPS with all, TT and Ad are up to T150.

FWIW well done one being second in this game, but man this thing needs putting out of its' misery. No way can NoSpace lose this game.

No. Not even to a co-ordinated strike. They are 8 turns from Education, with beakers in the bank that no one else has, a GNP that is triple yours and you are second, double the crop yield. Your empire is 2nd and not exactly that great, I fear what the others have. NoSpace have the game won.

If I don't see the save again...tech Archery, Feud and HBR in that order, revolt to Vassalage and start stacking LB and HA in your border city. Then get construction so you can build some cats.

Not sure how much of a coincidence this is, but...

On the day I decide to update this thread, I play the turn first and .......


But lurkers, before I proceed, lets try and give you a brief update of the events between T124 and T138

Krill kindly took over for me whilst I was away and as you can see from previous posts he left me a very nice Wedding present.

Not only did he build me the MoM but he also filled in many of my remaining city slots I wanted filling also! With also a city also named Liberty on the South East island which was a nice touch. nod

Well I inherited the game back around T130. Shortly afterwards TT razed a city in the northern lands of NSA. lol That must have really p!$$ed NSA off.
Something needed to happen though and full marks and bravery to TT for instigating and capitalising on such an opportunity.

I took into consideration Krill's opinion of the game being over, and took it on the chin that he probably was right cry. But there's no harm in trying to make life difficult for NSA right?

With that in mind I dialled up Ad, Ruff and TT to see what damage we could do. In general terms, I think we are good to go, but TT has some doubts over Ruff's availability and feels he might be playing all of us off. I wouldn't blame TT for thinking that and I wouldn't expect anything different of any of them if they want to try and win this game themselves and give themselves the best chance of doing so.

Ok so time for some screenshots. Lets start with the F1 screen

As you can see 14 cities in total, and most are now in military mode. They are going to be in that mode for the next dozen or more turns going forward.

Why you ask? Well NSA sent me this on T138

Yep, NSA cancelled the NAP. I was feeling quite bad about instigating this 4 on 1 attack and I was thinking of having to cancel the NAP myself in a few more turns, so in many ways I am quite pleased they got in first. Maybe my surprise response is a bit lame, so we will have to see what comes back.
I do wonder how much Ruff has had to do in instigating this shhh

With any luck NSA will focus on me and hopefully I can hold on. In the mean time, Ruff and Ad can come in from the East and hopefully cause a bit of damage and bring them back down to a speed of progress the rest of us all seem to be playing to.

You may see the part in there about TT. TT unfortunaely sent a message to all commenting on Ruff and Ruffs potential contribution or lack of, which may have alerted NSA to something had they not had suspicions prior anyway. Either way, it probably did not help the cause.

Anyway, Ruff appears to be willing for the cause. Lets hope he is at the borders on or around T148.


Diplo between Ad and myself.

Ad seems up for this, but speaking to Ad on a regular turn basis doesn't seem to happen.

One thing of note I forgot to do last turn was close borders with NSA. Must do that next turn. I don't think that is a breach/clause of the NAP. Any lurkers think otherwise please shout up.


Finally my diplo with TT

In fairness to TT he has identified NSA as a threat virtually since making peace with Ad. His gamble to attack Ad from the off really didnt play off and hurt him badly, but since then his attention has always been on NSA in our conversations. I am not expecting much by way of units from TT over the next few turns, but lets just see what happens.


I did also take some pictures of the F5 military screen, but I am not so sure how accurate these actually are.

There doesn't look an awful lot there. Speaking to Krill on google chat he did point out to me though that I would not be seeing the whole picture as some cities might be hidden in the FoW. All my EP points are on NSA and have been for some time, so I am not sure how that helps.

One thing is for certain though. I wonder if they realised that just around the time our NAP expires, Krill probably comes on board whilst I go away on honeymoon jive

Research wise, we have Feudalism, HBR and Construction in the bag with MC due in 2 more turns.

I revolted in to Vassalage and Theocracy also on T138.
