Regarding the research - do you consider my Mining choice a mistake and prefer a Wheel -> Pottery path ? I know that we have a nice river to cottage near our capital but there is also an un-forested hill which beg to be mined too ... wink

I think wheel - pottery rather than mining - bronzeworking is better but only just (say 55%/45%) this is because I value getting cottages started more than the bump in production, especially given we are not that bothered about production atm.

It does allow us to get the gems earlier though once we are ready to build our second city.
