[SPOILERS] By the Rivers of Babylon, FIN has no effect (on krovice)

Just checked the MM. It's trivial to settle on the eastern spice and get a work boat out via 2 chops so the fish is improved immediately on border pop, including road in place for trade route on T36 when settling city 2. Obvious third worker from 1 pop slave at size 3 for when slavery unhappy has gone so that unhappy counter is on constant cool down. Also using third forest chop can get second work boat out same turn as growth to size 2, so only one turn not working improved clam. With such low happy cap no point in a granary at city 2, but with overflow from third worker and 2 further chops at cap, can get granary eot T43 with food box at 12/26. Only 1 warrior though, but with so many chops flying around getting warriors is trivial. Not suggesting this as final plan, only as potential for settling 2233 of capital.

T45: Capital size 3, granary, 20/26, 2 farm+cottage, 2 workers on cottage, warrior 13/15. City 2 size 2 clam and fish improved, worker 20/60, 3/24 food, 1 worker hanging around, warrior defender. 21bpt -1gpt, 5 gold in the bank, Mining/BW/Fishing/Pottery>Hunting 85/103.

Still think if we find two 4 food resources in a land locked position I'd probably settle for them rather than throw 60 hammers at work boats this early. Like that city as city 3 though, helps with commerce a lot.

That's my immediate thought as well. It's nice to know we have this option available though if nothing better is found.
I have to run.

Don't even care about a river, it's only 10 commerce per cottage worse comparing river and non river cottages.

Just need to find a good scouting path and hope the scout doesn't get eaten by an animal on T5.

Which is so very weird. Farm the riverside and cottage the lakeside...
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I'm obviously not going to be doing C&D in this game but nonetheless I notice that Ruff_Hi / Mostly Harmless popped a tech from a hut.

Circle clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Not sure about reasoning, agree with conclusion.

If 444 wasn't a hill, then it would have been possible to scout 74-1X and uncovered potential city sites to the SW, even if over the next 2 turns we uncovered fewer tiles. We need a working knowledge of the land in this area in case we need to use that clam for another city, rather than use it in the second city along with the fish. There would at least have been an argument for scouting counter-clockwise. But that tile looks to be a hill so it would mean spending a couple of turns uncovering land that is somewhat less important. 79-69 end up on a hill so it uncovers more land in an area relevant to dot map discussions because of potentially sharing the corn, and fitting in with a city for the fish. So frankly 79-69 is better.
