Radiohead trip report: it was freaking great. Thom was totally confident, playing up the crowd at his own pace, and occasionally rambling in english or the local language. They played through the first half of the new album, then bounced through their old tracks, went back to the second half, and scattered around other old tracks. Some songs were phenomenal live, such as 2+2=5. Highlight was Everything in its Right Place into Idioteque into There There. Idioteque had lil sparkly diamonds in the background screens just to help drive home the theme. They closed off the encore with National Anthem and Karma Police. Zero Bends songs, unfortunately.
A thought: what do we do if other players also compete for the AP? Alhazard's Gandhi can beat us to it easily if he aims for it, and we'll be competing with Mackoti's Mansa for it. If we get beaten by Alhazard, we aim for Taj or Notre Dame instead. If he saves it, and Mackoti goes for AP, it comes down to a coinflip.
The good news is I think Mackoti will focus more on working tiles, so in his calculus, he is more likely to save his engineer for Taj. But it's hard to say, I don't like the idea of risking an entire GE on a coinflip. But what the hell, we need to take risks in this game.

V festival was pretty good all in all. Very wet and dreary but a lot of good acts. Bieber was a let down but being able to see the sugar hill gang made up for that. Rihanna was awesome and the missus liked guetta. I don't understand how people can like a DJ set... I was most at home in the comedy tent. However now - To the game!

Re the AP, my impression re pickles post was none of the others had thought about it much at all from the reactions. I think Ghandi will go to snag Taj, and mackoti could go for it, but I reckon he will attempt to war early re the cataphracts. We will have to assess in game I suppose!
