Deleted my warrior turn after Fimi died to save 2gpt (1 supply, 1 maint).

Any news? Are you still engaged here? I can imagine the frustration over losing the Dutch cap, but it had seemed like an interesting game before.

I'm just terrible at reporting.

Nils/Firle settled between his capital and Fimi's ruins a few turns ago.

Care to let us know what you researched and what you bulbed with that GS?
Reply

Research completed was IW.
Bulbed Math.
On 0% on sailing, stacking gold.
City 5 settled, settler for 6 whipped this turn, 7&8 are building with the help of clearcutting a bunch of math powered trees.
I'll likely bulb alphabet next (in10t), and will have the gold saved to run Currency at 100%.

Serious happy issues - still just my starting silver. My walking settler is headed for Gems and Ivory, and one of the next two will get me Furs. The other will settle for Iron. It'll have a second ring pig, so will start VERY slowly, and will never amount to much, because the rest of the land is dry hills and peaks.
Power is comparable to my neighbors.

Flunky has currency already. And Hanging Gardens.

Thanks for the update, Elkad!

Interesting, bulbing Math and/or Alphabet seems to be popular among the RB players. I've read about this in multiple stories in the last weeks. Maybe this decision is affected from the RtR-mod?! The civforum players do not use it because both techs are relatively cheap compared to the value of a great person.

I think RB players are just in more of a hurry.

+50% chop yield, and the ability to build beakers while growing, instead of troops or buildings you may not need.

Firle settled Isvarapura in my face a couple turns ago. My settler was walking, he beat me by 2t.

I could have dealt with it, but he would control my sole source of iron.
He doesn't have IW yet - discerned by yield icons on his grassland iron elsewhere in his territory, so he settled without knowledge of it, for food alone.

Declared.
Took a shot at Angkor Wat (guarded by 2 axes, 25% fortify and 0% fortify). Roughly 50% chance of success.
C1 vs 25% fortified 20% culture axe, 79% win.
Unpromoted chariot over river vs 20% culture axe. 71% Loss. His defender is at 0.8 health and should not have a promotion. My first chariot is at 5xp and badly wounded, but I turned autopromote on, so it will be at half-health after the turn.

he has a spear that can move into the city. I have more units on the way as well, but late to the party, so he'll get a whip cycle off. He both grew and whipped this turn, but I don't know what city it was. Possible Angkor already whipped this turn. It's the same size it was before.

After checking with Lord of Civ for the legality of the offer, I will offer peace if he surrenders Isvarapura.

If not, I think I'll manage to burn Angkor Wat and leave his new city cut off from trade. It has units to defend it, but it'll be stuck building warriors and draining his economy without a trade network.
