Firle settled Isvarapura in my face a couple turns ago. My settler was walking, he beat me by 2t.
I could have dealt with it, but he would control my sole source of iron.
He doesn't have IW yet - discerned by yield icons on his grassland iron elsewhere in his territory, so he settled without knowledge of it, for food alone.
Declared.
Took a shot at Angkor Wat (guarded by 2 axes, 25% fortify and 0% fortify). Roughly 50% chance of success.
C1 vs 25% fortified 20% culture axe, 79% win.
Unpromoted chariot over river vs 20% culture axe. 71% Loss. His defender is at 0.8 health and should not have a promotion. My first chariot is at 5xp and badly wounded, but I turned autopromote on, so it will be at half-health after the turn.
he has a spear that can move into the city. I have more units on the way as well, but late to the party, so he'll get a whip cycle off. He both grew and whipped this turn, but I don't know what city it was. Possible Angkor already whipped this turn. It's the same size it was before.
After checking with Lord of Civ for the legality of the offer, I will offer peace if he surrenders Isvarapura.
If not, I think I'll manage to burn Angkor Wat and leave his new city cut off from trade. It has units to defend it, but it'll be stuck building warriors and draining his economy without a trade network.
