What the heck did Team 4 invade with... It must have been a pretty big stack to distract Team 3 away from winning with Team 2.
And Team 1 sits there... oblivious to all the drama. Heh. Never could have guessed that this would happen.

I dont think it was an invasion - it seemed Davy was performing a small incursion into team 4 territory to scout ...... not sure what he was trying to scout .... to scout if he could get his stack piled on?

Team 3 has lots of idle units at the moment, until they're ready to make the big attack. They went to see if they could use some (9 units) to grab anything lightly defended from Team 4 in the meantime. But Team 4 was prepared and killed the stack.

Boredom on Dave's part, it looks like. Wouldn't actually matter at all if they we mounting a conventional methodical SoD invasion of T2, but it does give about 18 more units of leeway to Beijing with T2's patented "Twinkletoes' Defense" body wall.

Assuming T3's stack is going to be 130 units, how many defenders do T2 need on Beijing to survive three turns ala "Twinkletoes" style?

~260, if 40 of those 130 are cannons. A few kills will happen. But Lewwyn is going to have to be disciplined and keep every single unit home and NOT ATTACK with them for that plan to work.

Less than that. Most of the cannons are going to die in the first attack, so there won't be much collateral left for the second and third waves. And I doubt they'll get more than 80% odds at most vs the muskets. It will make a big difference how much of the collateral gets absorbed by catapults, and how much falls on the muskets. But I think with 50 cats, 100 muskets, and 50 other units would be enough, assuming lewwyn is smart about it.
Put another way- with 200 defenders and 90 attackers, the attackers would have to win more than 85% of all battles in order to win in just 3 turns. I don't think that's possible with just 40 cannons.

Cnyeheard put his finger on it, it's going to take a huge amount of discipline on Lewwyn's part. Ironically, this applies even to catapults, unless they ignore MGs, and probably even then. They are dirt cheap compared to most else that can be built...explorers, cats...any little crappy units that stop the death for a minute will be best used.
I hope the calculation on Team 2's part including a hostile army sitting on all the commerce-producing tiles for the last two turns of the run. Sadly, I suspect they're going to get delays, be it with low-odds non-artists or with Team 1 running in first.

I don't see it happening either...not all of the T2 units are going to be sitting in Beijing. At most, half, and that isn't enough.

Why wouldn't you move everything into Beijing by t190 if you were team 2? Likewise with their other culture cities: once they get within a few turns of winning those will be the only cities that matter
