3x the hammer difference +5 is BTS.
Base FFHII (and I assume this mod-mod) it's 2x the hammer difference +5.
The Ingenuity trait reduces the cost by 50%.

Heh. You learn something new every day.
In any event, the TLDR version is that upgrading is much, much better in FFH than in BTS.

+1
I could have sworn I paid only 19 gold for a Warrior -> Axeman upgrade, but I must have been befuddled...

Exactly, so with this new information we now know that previously mentioned upgrade costs 33 gold, still very doable for a Financial Civ.
Darrell and I have decided to head for Festivals next, which should allow us to bang out a quick Market before starting a Settler.
After that it's Education, and if we can spare the beakers, Drama, for the free Bard (used to bulb Sanitation) and the ability to pop borders.
If Drama takes too long, we'll just take the necessary techs Construction and Knowledge of the Ether.

I'll actually swap off one of those floodplains, which will allow me to grow and finsih the mud golem on the same turn, then I'll start a Settler. I wouldn't be that foolish, would I?
