I'm having dropbox issues, so Scooter's going to post my first-impressions dotmap. In general, Darius is on the coast and Joao sucks hind teat with hammer-heavy fillers...heck, even the empty place 4S of the capital is good for size 4/5 working farm, lake, and two mines for 4t workers. I like actually expanding to the hammer-heavy horse/corn/copper spot with him.

Wait why is there a worker on the hill S of the wheat for Joao? Mine? then farm? Would we have gotten better yield from chopping into a second settler right away? or mining the gems instead? In any case now that the worker is on the hill it should mine anyway and then farm the wheat, I'm just curious how soon you think we'll be using that mine since we'll be working the gems more likely and growing Joao slowly. Though I suppose Violet might work that mine when it grows to 2 after working the wheat.

Yeah, my thoughts were basically this. Lily follows up the settler with a worker, working the grass hill and the plains sheep (and the gems + mined sheep after that mine finishes). After worker, it can grow to size 3 in 3 turns working Cow + Wheat, then does a 3-turn settler (help from chop).
While Violet grows to size 2 on the cow, and then switching over to the flood plains when Lily takes the Cow back. Then at size 2 working flood plains + grass hill, Violet starts a 4th worker, which gets done in 3t (help from chop).

I'm also in love with that eastern wheat, too. I was trying to find a way to make that city #2, but I couldn't get it up and running as quick as Violet.

Here, this better spells out my idea of what we should do for Joao:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...sp=sharing

Goes through t25

Edit: i screwed the sharing up i guess, will try to fix it / share on request. But this seems to be 10x more complicated on mobile than pc

Looks great to me! thumbsup I think we're pretty set at least until Darius' first settler is out, need to settle on where it does. I can play late, anyone else feel free.

Up north, Darius' scout had vision on Seven's warrior, so we're fairly safe planting Violet I think.
