Just a suggestion. If an inexperienced player ends up playing solo, global lurkers might have a bit more freedom to comment. The assistance would had to concentrate on domestic affairs and based on info given by the player not found from other teams threads. Also external affairs like diplomacy would had to handled by the player.

@Plako, I was thinking exactly this seeing that several very experienced players already graciously offer to dedlurk As you point out, such assistance could not include diplomacy, but in my experience - and I am as green as it gets - and in observing others beginning player, diplo is usually the part that greener player find least intimidating and actually can often hold their own against much more experienced players (that was one of the reasons I wanted to have diplo on in this game, btw ). On the other hand, micro and generally developing your civ well can be an real Achilles heel for an inexperienced player - at least it is still to me . So dedlurkers adviced could be extremely helpful here.
I was also thinking that playing in pairs - or just with somebody to talk to - will be less lonely and generally a nicer experienced, especially in difficult times like during war. Again, it probably matters mostly to inexperienced player. But that is who organized of this game are - a bunch of struggling green players desperate to get some expert advice. We are very happy it seems to materialize so well here on RB, with so many people willing to help us in different ways .

Meaning you claim to be an inexperienced player, Lord Parkin? Well, we are an open-minded bunch and you are definitely welcome to play - although finding you a more experienced partner may be a slight challenge But I guess anything is relative, so simply anybody with N+1 number of MP wins (where N is a double-digit number of times you have won already) would do Good luck with your search
@LP: Seriously, in which category exactly we should count you?

I was kidding. But seriously, I'd be keen to teach someone less experienced how to improve their play. Maybe they could teach me how to diplo. Sounds like fun.

Great, thank you very much! BTW, I was asking if we should count you as a player or a lurker and I understand that an answer is as a player . Plako, please add in the next update: Lord Parkin/?.

Not bad I suppose - surprised even myself in Pitboss 4. But there's always room for improvement... in civ playing too. I don't pretend to know absolutely everything about the game.
Regardless, it will be neat to have someone to chat with. Looking forward to this getting started.

Great to have you join us, LP :D Welcome!
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"
