Savage Tide : In Character

OK, who'd be good at rowing? Anders and Holden probably, right? I say we obtain ourselves a small craft some time this evening, and go pay that boat a visit when it's dark. There can't be too many guards on there, and it'll be hard for reinforcements to reach them in a remotely timely manner.

A long walk on a short pier seems in order. I can row, row, row the boat.

"Yes, I agree - with both your suggestions. A simple stroll followed by a moonlight infiltration. If approached on the pier we can maintain the cover we had decided on previously."

"If we are going to row, there's no need to set off from this particular pier. In fact, we might as well take to the waterway from Shadowshore — no questions asked. I'll be able to pick up some of my things, too, what little remains of them. We can re-assemble in the Pelican shortly after sundown and wait there until darkness falls."

Moshka was still keen to pop in to see the harbormaster even if the others did not share that interest, so instead of making it straight home she went to the old guy.

With the boat being moored off the pier a way, it might even be closer to come at it from Shadowshore. And while it's true that minimal questions are asked, it may still be better for me or Moshka to do the actual acquisition. People who obviously aren't locals tend to end up paying several times the actual value for small items or services around there...

After a bit of discussion you argee to go to Shadowshore to rent a boat, after some 20 minutes walk you get to "It Still Floats!" where Kaisa talks to the owner Panchi about renting two rowboats.

1d20+2 (being friendly and giving you the bonus from Child of Shadow) = 20

"Tell ya what," Panchi grumpled "because i'm so friendly I'm going to except that you don't run off with it without returning it, so I don't have to go through the hassle of siccing some 'friends' on you ... you lay 2 gold pieces on the desk and when you return with the boat tomorrow morning, I give you 17 Silver pieces back, having paid 3 silver for borrowing it for the night. Take it or leave it"

I'm going to assume that we went to a somewhat reputable (well, as best as you can get in Shadowshore) dealer, rather than just the first we saw.
Eh. Knowledge (Local) to check: 6 +4 = 10
Not going to made a difference either way I suppose, if we're taking them now...
Fair enough. We'll have these back tomorrow, you have my silver for me, and we won't have to come looking for you either. Done deal.

OK, how are we going to arrange this? Might have some trouble fitting everyone on these. So, Fluffy and Moshka on the same boat to save space, means Himo is on that one as well, so you guys should take Anders to row. That leaves me, Alianda and Holden in the other. Sound good?

Holden looked excited. A boat! You know come to think of it, I've never been on a boat before.. He grinned.

"Makes sense. What's the plan for once we approach the boats? Immediately board? Or send a stealthier scout in first?"
