What was the intention with the settler?

Thought I'd leave that up to you. Two main choices: 3S of Antioch, and 3W-2N of Antioch. Neither are particularly ideal, as they're probably a bit aggressive towards Ruff. The Settler was started just before several rival cities were founded though, so options were limited at that point. Originally it was intended for a spot Ruff just took down south.

Okay. I don't think I'll found either of those - each are right next to a roaded ruff tile, as well as a food resource, so far too aggressive. (No criticism for starting of course - I even requested a wave of settlers and its very easy to forget about something in the queue, even when one isn't juggling 8-9 other civs in the same game wink ). I'll keep him on ice in case an opportunity prevents itself.

Turn 113

You hadn't responded in the tech thread or via PM, so logged in to keep the game moving along. Pretty easy turn, just a bunch of Worker movements (mostly cottages). smile

Suggest you chop that forest 2S-1W of Jojo next turn, backed up by defenders.

Ugh... apparently Xenu has decided to throw both his game and yours away by attacking you across the sea in Pitboss 18. That's going to accomplish nothing except dragging both of you down, so I don't really understand his logic. You're probably going to lose Cowboy Bebop merely because he took the second half of the timer (so a whipped Spear won't appear before he attacks). Suffice it to say I don't particularly approve of that tactic, but oh well.

Anyway, war turns are much more time consuming than peace turns to play, plus I feel uncomfortable playing war turns against someone I've subbed for recently. It'd be great if you could take over again as soon as possible, Qgqqqqq - please let me know when you'll be around again.

I have to agree with Parkin, I have no clue what he hopes to gain from this. He has landed two HA next to a city on a hill with 20% defences and an axe and whilst to be frank I have no idea whether the odds are that it will take one HA or two, but regardless there is no way that he will be able to proceed further, and whilst losing an established city does hurt...I can replace it quickly and have moved units to finish his off if he leaves them around and if not I fully intend to take the 33% shot with my galley to finish off his troops.

There js no rational reason that I can see for him to take this out...he can say it costs him nothing, and the hammer exchange certain favors him, but this is not a duel, and whilst he has hurt me markedly he has lost two HA into the bargain, poisoned any chance at a natural ally (if either of us was ever in a position to fight against wetbandit or that-neighbor-across-the-western-channel ™ we would be allied, and otherwise given our virtual lack of a border we would never have any reason to war) and killed trade routes.

And more personally, I'm a little pissed at him for taking the second half. Because firstly this attack would not have a chance of succeeding in any situation when I had a turn of production (which personally I believe is a issue with the game design and implementation of pitboss) and because as far as I'm aware Parkin (and thus me lately) has played consistently last, or all but, meaning the only reason he has the second half is for scummy/questionable reasons. I have no intention of speaking out against it, though I might if I cared more about this game, but it rubs me the wrong way big time.
