To be frank, I don't understand why people make so much fuss about smurfs. Because if it's a smurf of a player that one person does not wish to play with, then that player is being denied the opportunity to object.

I honestly don't care if someone is using a smurf or not. IMHO, if you're the type to judge a player based on their reputation (or assumed lack thereof) instead of their in-game actions, you deserve to get burnt if someone you assumed was a noob ends up handing you your ass. Always take your opponents seriously and it doesn't matter what their name is.
That said, if a smurf does some real shady shit (or has a history of it, I suppose), like rage-quitting, gifting gold and cities to a third party to spite a would-be conqueror, diplo with unit naming, etc, then sure, they should be outed.
Actually, as we're locked at nine, could some kind soul roll us a snake pick order? Frenzied speculation for the win.
