[Spoilers] Coldlight: The Commodtay Saga

If TBS screws with us, he's getting whacked. This is why I threw 35 precious hammers into an axe:

I'd rather he turn around and leave, but eh.

Interesting times here in PB31. TBS retreated, and met someone else (EP spending split for a turn). I'm reasonably certain he's going to be peaceful, then...given there are a good dozen tiles between us with zero food, I am pretty optimistic that he's going to be prioritizing his other border(s). He's slung his third city pretty impressively south, and just-acquired graphs show a struggling player. It's TBS, I'm sure he'll overcome.

Wonders have fallen:
-Stonehenge for Pindicooter, Pro/Imp America.
-Great Lighthouse for Mackoti, Cre/Fin Vikings. bang
-Oracle for OT4E, Pro/Phi Inca.
The last one is a little alarming, but given the dearth of happiness on the map plus Inca, there is a chance OT4E's gone for Monarchy. At this point, we're committed to our plan anyway.

Human players might not much care for the masses of windswept tundra and snow in the north, but the place is loaded to the gills with Conans. Why yes, that is a very-last-second whip of a defensive axe in Mingo Bay, thanks for noticing. The combination of junk tiles and a sprawling empire means that we're going to be doing a lot of barbarian-fighting. This can only be positive, as a slow tech pace plus vast map plus crummy land plus hills everywhere plus veterans means you can forget about conflict between players this side of the AD line.

Most of those forests are down to 1t chops, which is fun. Killing time with mining...although most of the hills are destined for Serfdom windmills.

A work boat explorer has discovered the Ivory Isle is nine tiles high and nary a food tile to be seen, land or sea. Well, I guess 1N of the current position technically reaches pigs, but someone else has laid claim to them already. Which is just peachy, a leisurely sword out this way might well earn us a second empire given the emptiness projected.

Barbarians might possibly be the strongest civilization at this point.

Hmm? Why is Inca relevant?

Quecha remain build-able until maces for uber cheap garrisons.

I liked Ichabod's answer better wink.

Upgrade rules are weird. I guess they're buildable because of something about the rules for upgrading UU's, rather than because they're Quechuas in particular?

Anyone see the oops here? Always check your mod in simulations.

Thank goodness OT4E's oracle was followed by a revolt, which means he probably went Monarchy.

Oh, huh, you did assume this, didn't you?

Here I was thinking the oops was mixing up your own thread and the tech thread, though neenerneener

Yeah. shakehead Unforced error, now the big metal guy doesn't finish until end of next turn with an out-of-culture chop. Still in all, we've got a new city:

...delayed a nasty three turns by barbarian activity. Four warriors on the edges right now, we've literally been fighting 1-2 every single turn.
