[SPOILERS] Balseraphs: A Guide to Mis-Management (by Kyan and TT)
|
I heartily apologise. I actually enjoy updating this game, but i'm busy today. Full update tomoro evening. Count on it.
Ok, so very much to update.
firstly, Bobchillingworth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymTAUO32ysc WARNING: MAY BE LOUD You, sir, are a genius. Animal Husbandry will be good because then we can pasture the cows right? BOOM BOOM BOOM This makes our capital FANTASTIC. Rice already improved. Grassland farm done next turn, then onto cows before heading for horses and floodplain.
Barbarians are prevalent but we're in no real danger. That is a goblin fort just outside our capital's third ring. It's the cause for the 2 goblins we've dealt with so far. I currently have Reginald fortified in the forest next to it hoping they'll suicide individually. Once the next warrior completes, i'll send our other warrior currently in the capital (and currently combat 1) to join him.
Thorn is heading north to go gryphon chasing. Zorn is heading into the jungle belt looking for Tarzan's pals. Smiley Jim the scout is dodging lizardmen in the west and trying to cause some mischief. Mischief with who? why, the Grigori of course! They are our western neighbour, behind the b-e-a-utiful floodplains. I haven't actually technically met them, i just know they're there. I'm not too keen on meeting them yet as i intend to pop the dungeon and barrow around if i can.
I have met Brian of the Elohim. I like Brian, nice bloke. However, he is *far* too naive with his diplomacy...
Sorry Brian when you read this after. I took advantage a bit because i'm a big meanie. Brian's scout was initially over by Smiley Jim but got eaten by a lizardman. He is having serious border disputes with the Grigori and is prepping for war! I was trying to fish for information and just being generally sympathetic when he mentioned that he would be going to war with them. I saw an opportunity and this is the result: Brian to Kyan Wrote:Kyan, He is planning to move in on ~T90 with an uber stack of copper warriors. He is willing to split Grigori lands 50/50 as long as i contribute 2 (two) T-W-O freaks to the party as a diversion. I don't even have to attack, just be a nuiscance. I'm actually a nice guy and offereed him a third one (weakened and diseased of course). No idea what he's smoking but i fail to see a downside. Either, he wins and i get loads of land. Or, he loses, they're both weaker and i mop up Grigori with Gibbon Goetia.
The single best moment of the whole conversation was trying to determine the NAP length though. This is possibly my best diplomatic moment on Realms Beyond. He didn't want it to be too long, turn 100 max, whilst obviously, i'd prefer it as near to turn 130 as possible because of Gibbon.
However, he seemed a bit unwilling to budge so i decided to stick with 100 and not try argue and lose his friendship. So, i steered the conversation into general chit chat and bided my time. I tried talking about beer but couldn't find an opportunity, then about women but no dice. Then it happened. Brian got all happy because in Football Manager his Crawley side had beaten Sunderland. Now, i'm a Newcastle United fan and as such, very much anti-sunderland (big rivalry for those that aren't football followers) so i pounced with something along the lines of: Dude! Are you kidding? I'm a Newcastle fan. I hate scumderland. Seriously, this deserves a celebration. I tell you what, have an extra ten turns on the NAP on me! I was kinda looking at 100 as the limit but just for that moment, feck it, let's do 110. He promptly agreed and sent the above proposal. Bob 3 - 1 Kyan Oh, it's on bob. NAP Proposal between Balseraphs and Hippus
- NAP until and including turn 160 -Heroic archmages have their own personal NAP extension which prohibits them from offensive action until turn 170 - Balseraphs, with at least ten turns notice, must be willing to lend marble to the Hippus if at all possible. Undetermined length for marble loans, essentially whenever the balseraphs are not using it is valid. -Neither civilisation must *ever* use Sol Pass for any action that could, in any way, be deemed aggresive to the other party without express permission. -Balseraphs, with at least ten turns notice, must be willing to lend two mana types (of hippus choosing) to to the Hippus if at all possible, except that mind mana must have twenty turns notice to be guaranteed access. -The Hippus must, with at least ten turns notice, be willing to lend two mana types (of Balseraph choosing) to the Balseraphs if at all possible. - Both parties will warn of hostilities or aggresive diplomacy/actions from third party nations towards the other involved in the treaty. -Both parties will keep the strength of their relationship secret from the other nations, only stating that they have a NAP with the other if asked (but not specifying the duration). -The Hippus cede all land between the two civilizations to the Balseraphs. |
