Here is my suggested post - not a 'bah ... hit end-o-turn will you!' post ... but rather one seeking info about what is happening but also containing some hints of our frustration. Are my hints clear enough? What about if you aren't an English speaker?
I was talking to a few of my RB colleagues, discussing how the mod that we are playing this game works. We threw together some scenarios and options but none of us could actually answer some of the questions we had. Can someone with knowledge of the mod provide us with some answers?
There are two basic scenarios that we are concerned about - I'll use an illustration to walk you through them.
Consider the following pitboss game played with the mod ...
- 6 teams (A, B, C, D, E & G)
- 40hr timer
- Team A logs in during a new turn and declares on Team G (who is offline at the time)
Q1: Who gets which half of the turn?
A1: We were all pretty sure that A would get the first half and Team G would get the second half - can someone confirm?
Q2a: Is it right to think that every team has its own turn timer?
Q2b: When everyone is at peace, they are all the same?
In the above situation where A and G are at war (and assuming that A is 1st and G is 2nd) are the timers something like this ...
- Team A - 20hrs
- Teams B thru E - 40hrs
- Team G - 20hrs (but it doesn't start at the start of the new turn)
Now is where we started to get really confused ... when does Team A's timer finish and Team G's start?
Scenario A - no one ever uses the 'end of turn' button- Our thinking here is that Team A's timer runs for 20 hrs from the start of the turn.
- Team G's timer runs from the 20hr mark through to the 40hr mark.
- Teams B through E runs from 0 to 40 as per normal.
Thus the turn rolls when all of the timers hit the end of their cycle. Can someone with knowledge of the mod provide us with some answers / comments on this Scenario?
Scenario B - All teams are good civ-playing citizens, don't like to keep others waiting unnecessarily and know how to use the 'end of turn' button- Our thinking here is that Team A's timer runs from the start of the turn until they hit the 'end of turn' button (after which A cannot log back in)
- Teams B through E runs from the start of the turn until they hit the 'end of turn' button (after which these teams can log back in)
- We couldn't provide an suggestion regarding when Team G's timer would start. Is it the 20hr mark? Is it when Team A hits the 'end of turn' button? Is it from when they first log in (but only after Team A hits the 'end of turn' button)?
If team G's timer does start from when they first log in, what happens if they never log in? Does the turn never finish? If they have a maximum of 20hrs to log in, what happens if they log in at the 19h30m mark ... does the timer that looked like it only had 30minutes to run suddenly jump out to another 20hrs?
