I don't see a problem with that question Ellimist. It is more the specificity of the sequence question that becomes a problem.
I think the initial "violation" was something Krill said about whipping during the Apolyton Demogame if I remember correctly.

OK, so WK is going to plant his city. He says he isn't doing it just to exploit WW on plako, and that is good enough for me. Not sure I would've stopped him anyway.
He will delete any future workers rather than gift them, but he already gifted two workers to Rego this current turn. Rego isn't going to like it, but I am going to ask him to delete them. I suspect he will argue that I am screwing him by messing with some elaborate worker micro he had planned for them, and I am sympathetic to that, but I think it is still better to have them deleted.
Anybody feel strongly that I am wrong on this?

FWIW I kinda see both sides of the argument, but it would be hard to stop WK from, say, trading workers for an NAP and some land. I figure so long as WK offers peace and keeps it on the table once Plako takes the last city everything should be fine. Hiding in a corner and keeping the WW unhappy around should be a no-no.

It would be hard indeed, and I wouldn't stop it if that was the situation. Not sure I have the grounds to stop it even if planted for pure WW. I would just hope that people here would do the right thing.
This is the email exchange I had with WK:
Quote:WK,
I've read that you are planning to found another city in the backlines somewhere and then gift all your available workers to Rego.
I don't want to get too pro-active in the way this game is played, but these are part of the agreed rules:
"5) Gifting: Teams should act in good faith when gifting units, cities, techs, and/or gold to one another. Gifting and re-gifting back cities (to build a unique building) and units (for Heroic Epic purposes) is strictly prohibited. Gifting cities away as part of a peace treaty is allowable, but gifting cities away to third parties to prevent capture in war is forbidden.
7) Fair Play: Teams should show good sportsmanship and act in good faith. Play to win, play to survive, and avoid moves that artificially unbalance the game."
If you are planning to plant a city with the purpose of trying to rebuild your civ, then more power to you. I applaud you for playing out the string. But if the sole goal is to just manipulate a game mechanic to the detriment of another civ for as long as possible, I don't think that is acting in good faith. That is a judgment call for you to make. I cannot read your mind.
As for the worker gifts, I do not believe those are appropriate as the rules are written for this Pitboss. If you want to delete them to deny them to plako, so be it, but Rego did nothing to earn them and I don't think any other players in the game would appreciate Rego receiving a windfall like that.

I can definitely see your concerns regarding game rules. I haven't checked them recently because I haven't been paying much attention to this game since I expect to be eliminated shortly, but that is no excuse and I apologize.
Regarding the worker gifts, I agree that rego has done nothing to deserve them. I had intended to gift them to him eventually since he asked but the rules clearly prohibit that. I will not give him any more, although I have already given him two so you will need to speak with him about them if you feel that the rule was broken.
I don't completely agree with the city planting. What exactly do you do when a stronger civ knocks on your door and will completely overwhelm you? Playing to win is no longer possible so you play to survive. I don't see how planting a distant city doesn't fit with the criteria of playing to survive. Thanks to the various costs of war, my survival will hamper plako a bit (WW, cultural problems, economy costs etc.) but that's just how the game works.
My recent conversion to Judaism however was a move not primarily designed to help me win or survive but to hamper plako so I can see how that would cause concern. If you feel that it has artificially unbalanced the game, I will of course take any counter action you feel is appropriate and not do it again.
I'm not sure if there are any other rules that currently apply, as I have no intention of gifting my cities away to anyone. However since I'm on my way out of the game, I realize now that I can quite easily brake the rules so I will attempt to follow them more closely from now on.

Nothing to apologize for. These are honestly close questions and I thought about not acting at all. Don't feel bad about it or like I am attacking your character. I am sorry if it came off that way.
And that was what I was trying to find out about the city plant. That is exactly what you should do if your goal is survival and to play on. The sense I got from reading Rego's thread was that the sole point of the city was to get in a last dig at plako on the way out.
I don't have a problem with the conversion to Judaism if you think it helps you, or injures your opponent, while at war. The problem with a distant city plant, if the only goal was to injure your opponent, would be that you only did it to harm them, but after the conflict technically should've been over. While the conflict proper is going on, all is fair in love and war from my perspective.
So feel free to plant your city. I was just curious about your reasons.
So to confirm, you gifted two workers to Rego already? What turn?

Nice to hear that the city plant issue is sorted.
Yes, I gifted the workers already. It was last turn and they were out of movement so I don't think he's managed to use them yet. I don't mind what happens to them as I probably wouldn't have managed to use them anyway.

Anybody think Rego told sunrise to crash the game hoping I would change my mind before he deletes the workers?

that would be awesome:neenernee. But NO, he didn't do when they were in worse situation (PB2) than this. Why would they do it now, when they have a shot at winning this....
