So my thoughts are still with AH, though we do need to consider what happens if we are on some sort of archi map (boo)
I would work the 1/3/0 deer and put 1 turn into a warrior and research AH

So why are we dithering about settling? Well we're actually pondering not settling in place.
I looked at the demographics and average land area is 9000 which means that everyone has settled for all land (likely in place).
But with coast on west and south, we are wondering if this is an archipelago map. Obviously an archi map is bad for our particular leader / civ, so we could potentially mitigate that with a move to the coast.
It's kind of like being industrious - if lots of people are Ind - it's not that valuable, but if you're the ONLY one, it can be a fairly big benefit.
If this IS an archi map, getting a leg up on things like circumnav bonus and the Great Lighthouse is pretty huge.
Sunrise pointed out that only folks with a scout would be able to confirm that both bodies of water are coast (the standard opening pic, if they are all the same / similar) shows the outline of water but you can't confirm if it's a lake or coast.
Only WarlordDr and Nakor / Gaspar also start with Hunting and scouts.
Other useful things to look at for the demos is that it looks like everyone has a plains hill and 3/1 and/or 1/3 tiles

Given the lack of seafood, I'd safely say its an ooops post .

We'd have preferred seafood, but it's more the noob movement off the plains hill and away from cow.
Two options we're considering for the scout - the deer tile revealing the original cap spot's fog, or 1S of the deer, revealing any other seafood and one of the fogged tiles.

No fair, nothing hideously unbalancing (in our favor of course):
Settle in place right?
By the way, this cap, GLighthouse aside, is still nice. Coastal 2x deer, multiple hills, and double river.

Yes, settle in place. I'd vote for warrior, working the 1/3/0 deer. Note that since we're not on a plains hill, it takes 4t instead of 3t to complete the warrior, and our worker will be slower.

Technically that's 5t instead of 3t, since you should take into account the turn for moving your Settler off the plains hill tile.
