I spoke to WarlordDr in the past, and tbh I'm not really impressed about his strategy.
He plans to not bother doing diplomacy until it suits him, which will set him up to go against Plako. He also expects to be using major artist bombs to control land when he isn't PHI and, well, has a single front that isn't coastal to worry about. He hasn't read any of the other threads to learn about his opponents. He expects to run over everyone...
Of all the civs that can deal with an artist bomb without counter bombing, Cre China is best, and the only bomb that would likely cause any pain is going to hit Plako where Plako will be settling his third city. The amount of culture Plako will build up will basically make him immune to that thread.
Right now, the player I'm most interested in watching is Plako by a country mile. I'd rate him as more dangerous than LP...

OTOH, Plako needs to grow a pair when it comes to city placements.

Theoretical question: How soon would you decide where you want to settle your second city? And why would you wait until that point to decide the final tile to settle on?

That's a bit tough to answer, as I think most would agree it changes as per the situation.
If we want to talk about Plako's situation, I'd have already picked out the site with his sign "C2". He's aiming for The Great Lighthouse and already committed to it via Fishing. He's got enough map info to know nobody is going to be rushing him so doesn't need a strat resource right away either.
He can chop a WB, chop/slave a lighthouse, and chop TGL.
His post to push his C1 sign a bit west would be my 3rd city (onto that plains/hill), and I'd rush there as soon as I can get the workers to lay a road down, the last road being built the same turn I found the city.

C2 isn't coastal though, C1 would have to be the GLH city. C2 can be planted for grass hill sheep, plains hill copper, freshwater fish and unirrigated wheat though, I think 1E of it's current position. C2 is like...uber. And there is copper at the choke point city.
This is the area between the Vikings and the Chinese. look at those peaks and lakes in the upper centre of the map...and remember the Chinese are Creative.

He absolutely has to settle the gold city further west! It gets fresh water, an extra food resource, properly blocks the chokepoint and leaves room for a filler city SW of the capital. The aluminium and copper are just bonuses.
In the east, it will be a little more complicated when he finds he's missed spotting the deer and wheat, and he might be settling that way before seeing the copper. There is a spot that hits 5 (!) bonus foods, but that does miss the copper (fantastic as a worker/settler pump -> HE city, though).

For C1, 3 W gains the plains hill but loses the canal and coastal. 2W seems like the right choice and his DL nudged him that way. Sure would be nice if he had seen that wheat tile though.

Last night, I, of course, meant National Epic / Globe Theatre for the 5-food site, NOT HE

I agree that 2W/3W is tricky, especially as he may not get a second city that direction as itâs so close to the Vikings. I may be missing something, but I thought 3W would still be canal/coastal on the diagonals? I would go with antisocialmonkey and 2W, though.

Doh. You are correct, of course.
The GLH race seems interesting, given what everyone knows about the Zulu, and what C&D followers should pick up about Plako getting fishing.
