And with 5 minutes left to spare, Pb saves! Priapus can breathe easy.
Boring turn update, nothing happening, but since it’s T200 I can at least include the graphs.
Mage at Kwythellar completes the Law node, Caledor can now start on the ToD whenever it wants.
OO temple founded in Tionisla.
Busy converting mines at Caledor to squeeze any last drops of commerce out (windmills +1h +1c).
Ending turn completed the first champion in KK, Blasting Powder research completed, Caledor and Kwythellar grew.
Source of Gunpowder near Zaonce:
Which means that bare patch near Kwythellar still remains mysterious.
Demographics:
Troop counts:
Even after deleting a bunch, I still have way too many workers (captured spoils of war).
CA count (minus one soon to be sacrificed):
24 Mercs, mostly in the South, one in each captured settlement.
By comparison, hawk and floating eye flights show only the following Illian counts:

The Evil Lurkers have been scheming, and realized that in order to know which Centaur Archer should be next on their hostage list, they need to know who their targets are.
The more detail, the better, of course (at a minimum some sense of XP levels and names). Otherwise, the named targets will be the ones that have been discussed more recently and prominently...
[/Evil Lurker Comment]
Will do next time I play a turn, it's been held up recently on a technical hitch.

You wouldn't!

Profane Wrote:I'm in favour of not deleting Centaurs. You're going to have to pay upkeep for your units, pb!
Instead, your first Centaur, Priapus has decided to spend the rest of his days on the great Incontinentia Pastures in the North.
(In game, fortify Priapus on your Horse resource for the rest of the game. No exceptions)
Krill Wrote:Unfortunately (for you) PB only agreed to disband centaurs.
EDIT:
OK, that I can agree with. :b: Just be careful to blur that tile in any future screen shots.
Think of the children!
Have you seen my gold generation??? =)
Seriously, I can support something like 700 gpt, disbanding is way more painful, i promise you.
First off: an apology.
I meant to send this after passing on the turn last night, but it was a bit late and I've had other stuff going on.
So sorry for that, I didn't mean you to find out second hand from Dave.
As you've no doubt guessed, some Centaurs came knocking last turn and some leafy cities were reappropriated.
I think you've been expecting it and wanting it to happen, (I noticed you've not been building any military for the last 5-10 turns), so I didn't draw it out.
Overall, I wanted to say thankyou for keeping on going, playing the turns after that initial Priest rush must have seemed like a chore at times.
If/when you get around to reading my spoiler thread, please don't think *too* badly of me! I've been very nice at times, but a little sneaky occasionally.
Good luck in PBEM 5 which I think you're involved in?

No worries. You read too much into that though, my cities are just no

I've finished the lurker thread, but have some assignments due
tomorrow. I'll be sure to let you know after I've chewed through your
thread, though I wouldn't be particularly harsh anyways. This was my
first MP outing, so overall I think I picked up quite a bit from the
experience.
I think that "little sneaky" is a wonderful understatement.
Thank you for the good wishes. I'm playing Valledia/Amurites, so
we'll see how it goes.

Then Selrahc reminds me I haven’t replied to him:

Cull to be removed next turn.
I note the tactical silence to my last missive If you do want to chat or email about how to close up the game, feel free.
Good luck smashing demons.
Pb Wrote:Hey Selrahc,
Nonono, not tactical silence.
Been a bit busy elsewhere, only just updated my thread for the first time in 10 days, sorry for the slow reply.
What I meant to say to your last email:
a) Thankyou for the compliment.
b) Definitely do want to finish the game, be a shame to just end it arbitrarily.
c) As for victory conditions, I will be tactical here though and say that the Kuriotates have every intention of honouring our existing agreements.
When T220 rolls around, I'll be happy to enter into discussions as to whether to extend or end the NAP, however at this time my advisors are very much split down the middle as to which direction we should go.
Naturally I'm favourably inclined towards our longstanding allies, but one particular Ratman (who now has chronic arthritis from his knees downwards) is arguing extremely vehemently for your demise, and he has a considerable voting bloc.
In short, you have a choice. You can either place all your eggs in one basket, or hedge your bets.
Feel free to seek lurker advice!
Peacefully Yours,
Pb, Warmonger Boy-King.
And something I forgot to point out with the last turn update:
Selrahc Wrote: Merry T200! To mark the occasion I wiped out the dwarves, commissioned a great engineer and renamed all the recently conquered cities.
pocketbeetle Wrote:Really? You'd really try and deprive me of Hemah?!?
Oh my...
why not?
you have been keeping him from us so why not keep him from you plus it level the playing field you get no hero (edit: forgot buffy ( him next )) and selrahc has no hero acording to you.
Well, that actually was my suggestion on the first victim...

How about this? Get Priapus to Sprint every turn he stays on the Pastures. If he can't Sprint say... 5 times (or some other value) in a row due to not recovering, he dies from misery?
By the way, I still wish that you had named one centaur Biggus Dickus.
Or can I suggest a certain future Centaur yet to be born? The Overlords demand atonement! Either that, or revolt to a different religion.
How about a more interesting way to get them killed, like ramming the chosen ones into Illian or Infernal troops at terrible odds? Naturally, this has to be done on a turn when it cannot affect the outcome of a major battle. Might be a bit tough to do with the Flanking Centaurs, though.

I know! Why do you think I rushed to post?

Nonono, I'm not ready to lose Hemah and Buffy on a religion switch just yet.

I like this (sort of...in a "best of the worst" kinda way ). Smacks of Robert Jordan/Wheel of Time/Aiel going off to the Blight to suicide.
So I have to send any Centaurs I lose at Satan himself? (Since str 13 Hyborem wil undoubtedly be top defender)
If nothing else, reading Dave's confusion re: suicidal lemming attacks at the end should be fun.
Deal!

Pb Wrote:Hey,
Congrats!
I like the new city names for sure.
By the way - sorry about the wandering lunatics.
They went berserk a couple of turns ago, have ignored/walked past several barbs in the South already, seem to be heading for the barb city up North.
I'm pull them out if I ever manage to get control of them again. *shrugs*
The last few turns have been boring haven’t they? <<Editor’s note: Yes>>
That’s because certainty is boring, so let’s introduce a little uncertainty.
First off, Blasting Powder splashscreen:
Sadly Teutorix’s cure for vampirism comes several turns too late.
I think researching Blasting Powder was a slight mistake by me. I wanted the gain in production and option of Arquebusiers (which are undeniably strong), but at the same time I’m switching mines at Caledor to windmills and focussing on food at Avelorn, while Kwythellar overflows in hammers regularly.
Nevermind, I’m allowed to indulge a little, next up is Mithril Working.
Turnlog tells me my enraged Lunatics finally found a wall to smash into.
Apparently there used to be a barb city here, no longer:
I Sirona’d the injured one and will retreat them to Zaonce.
Founded an OO temple at Reorte, which should help push back the blue borders and solidify my claim on the hilltop fort.
Down in the South, Hyborem is concentrating on building walls (60% defense) and Diseased corpses, which he is then Curing of disease?
Nice move.
If I didn’t mention it, he’s currently in a GA courtesy of his first GP pop.
Selrahc on the other hand appears to be hoarding his GEng in Silent Night.
Now, onto more interesting stuff.
I figured it was time for a switch in civics, I’ve been in these ones for the last 50(?) or so turns.
So out with the old:
And in with the new:
I would have liked to switch to Pacifism also, but that would have meant two turns of anarchy.
Ending turn completed…nothing!
Switching to Undercouncil means that there are now two players with that civic, which should bring on the UC leader vote.
Now off you go.
I think the lurker thread is feeling lost without any recent posts or speculation.
