Just to tell you that one more lurker follows along. Where will the rice/gold city be placed?

Right between both of them - in order to be possible to work both without city borders expansion ( hardly to produce without Stonehenge, Creative trait or early religion ).

BTW - we completed research of The Wheel and also our second settler is ready to go and claim the needed gold spot ! smoke

We ( Macedon and I ) had a long YM! chat regarding which should be the "knowledge-path" for the glorious Vallachian researchers ... smile

Proposed paths :

- Mystical but highly risky one - Go to Polytheism instead of Pottery and hope to grab corresponding religion. Actually this could work - Buddhism is already claimed and probably other players try to go to Priesthood instead. However this alternative was rejected - a failure on it, corelated with our loss of Stonhenge-race would be too much ...
- Peaceful development - this would prioritize Pottery maybe Sailing next in an attempt to reach Writing as fast as possible. However ... as long as both our workers will be busy for the next 7-8 turns building improvement for our next, gold-claiming city ... Pottery will be in no use for the moment ( also no flood plains are in area of any existing/planned cities ).
- Maritime-oriented one - this would prioritize Sailing next, in order to give access to lighthouses in coastal cities ... and maybe even to try a Great Lighthouse race ... but at least for the moment this wonder didn't seems so great for us.
- Bronze Working path - somehow self explanatory. It is quite expensive tech to study right now - but we will get access to Slavery civics, will be able to chop the forests around our cities and also will reveal copper-deposits. Not really needed for defense-purposes - as long as chariots will do a quite good job for this ( and will have 2 movement ).

Anyway - for the moments the odds are for last alternative ... but disscusions are still on going. smile

"Voievodatul Valah" extend his border - the third city was founded ! smile

Still researching for BW - hope that the copper will be revealed in an already claimed spot/inside cultural borders. wink
Our defensive forces are paper-thin ... but for the moment we have NAP with all 4 other players which we met and will be not too long ( ~15 turns until we will strat to produce few chariots ).

Well this turn we find LP borders (his second city).

Well, not very happy about that, they got 2 gold pits, and one of those is riversided, and the other one is in a place with alot of riverside grassland(very good for cotage), and like food corn.

Discovering others starts i get more and more frustrated, they get corn, other got fish at their Gold city not talking about the fact that some those are closer to their capital, some of them even get 2 gold(ye i believe is very valuable in the begining, because are more than a free city there).

All THE food wich i found near my capitol needed anymal husbandry so i was realy forced to research that.

In the begging i was told alot of water and i was thinking ok ,farm and fishing will do very good for me but no....

And more rant and after that finish banghead in North there is alot of space with no food resourse and no fish just a whale.I have a lot of space but with very few food resouce.Well i have to live with that.

That does not say archipelago, it does not say islands. It just says, a fair amount of water.

Yeap - this was a misunderstanding here. Mack probably expect to be at least continents on this map and to use our "special galleons" this way. wink

The grass is always greener on the other player's riverside goldmine, but I think you are in a great position with lots of options. Losing Stonehenge sucks, but isn't all bad, as all that gold essential helps you tech faster for a bit.

well i talk with lord parkin and he has pig like food for gold and for the second goldalrighthas corn and fish, so i think is a big diference, and he has gems just few tiles away with lots of food.I am complaining? i don't i just present the facts wich are totaly agains me, because until now i didn't find nothing wich is actualy in my advantage.

I was forced from begginning to research AH because i have no grains food near me, wich is not happening for others, SM has alot of corns same rego same lord parkin , and the good city site are far away from me.

I got whales instead ,nice resorce but i can do nothing with it.From what i see until now for sure i can say this is no way a balanced map , like dry rice is not same with pig.

And about the turn, our gold got improved, i will finish the warior there and after that satr a worker. one more turn to bronze working, lets hope we have nearby.
