[Spoilers] Louis XIV of Babylon

Ooh, so pretty! jive

Now to think of a good location to claim the nearest Copper. There's no food resources to its north right? Perhaps instead we can place the city south of the copper instead, either on the plains or that grass hill.

Thoughts are welcome of course. smile

SW of the whale in this picture could work I guess.

Locke's borders?

Also settler finished, started on a worker, revolted to slavery. City #2 will finish warrior and grow in 3 turns. Don't know what to name the 3rd city, I'm assuming something sleep related.

Worker in Insomnia 1-pop whipped, overflow to chariot, will be completed next turn. Regrowing to size 4.

City #3 settled next turn. Corn is finished in city 2.

Alright, some pictures for the slightly-over-turn-50-report. smile

The glorious first three tribes of Somnus, and the current boundaries of our Civ. There is still a distinct lack of cottages, as teching has been fairly slow due to map design, and Pottery actually doesn't finish until the next turn. This is something to be rectified as quickly as possible; both Insomnia and especially Dream will be working cottages in the near future.

The cities, such as they are. Insomnia seems destined for a mixed role, so it will be converting some of the grassland tiles into cottages, starting with the river tiles to its south. It is still the main city for training Settlers, and it will start training one for the Copper city next, whipping it to completion. As the gold is nearly hooked up, I think I'll wait for a 1-pop whip (current whip anger will probably make this happen anyhow), and then let it grow to size 5 while building a Granary.

REM State will be a production city, and currently has quite a few tiles improved already. Before its borders expanded, I actually thought that the floodplain tile was a desert (too lazy to check, I know), so this is actually a nice break. The city should have no problems working the many hills in the future at least. As it is the target city for the Hanging Gardens, once the Worker is finished, it will start working on a Granary while growing. This should finish before Aqueducts can be built at least.

Finally, Dream is in a bit of a sorry state now but with Pottery almost done it will finally be able to start cottaging tiles, and pick up the Corn resource after the imminent border expansion. With some work this will turn into a very nice Commerce city. Production will be switched to a Granary once Pottery finishes. It may even be a candidate to switch into the capital at some point.

The demographics are a spot of concern. Some of the values are damn scary compared to mine. In hindsight there's a few things that I could have done different, but I don't feel my start was a bad one. And it still looks like I'm somewhere in the middle of the pack at best.

Cottages should equalize this at least. In about 25 or so turns this should look a lot better. smile

Turn 52 has been played since these screenshots were taken. Insomnia finished the second Chariot and switched to a Settler. Now that Pottery is in every city can start Working on a Granary as well. Insomnia will do so after whipping the Settler, REM state after finishing the Worker, and Dream has switched to one already (we really have enough military to last a while). Tech was set to Writing (~10 turns).

We're in turn 54 now. At home, we now have four Workers (we really do need some more hehe) and cottage building has started.

Abroad, a Zulu scout has found Cicero and Rego sent us a basic greeting. They're interested about discussing the map, but how much do they know if by their own admission they haven't met very many people yet? We'll see how that turns out I suppose.

Plako also got Circumnavigation, and Luddite constructed the Oracle. Considering the map, I'm all but certain he'll pick Metal Casting as the free tech and go for the Colossus.
