It'll all come down to alliances. I don't think the skill differences here are as huge as in PB2 where India pulled off a victory even after getting badly teamed on. Waiting forwards to the sides being decided, that's where the real drama is

Diplomacy is a key skill. Frankly, though, Plako's in a position where a 2v1 is the minimum necessary to do much of any harm to him. Also, it'll be some time before a 3rd player will even share a quasi-border (presumably LP in the north). Long-distance wars are a PITA, and easy to send too little assistance in those situations. And while WK might have an axe to grind, the Vikings don't strike me as the type of team who're going to put themselves in to a position where they can be effective attackers. And WK is going to be quite a ways behind, with this 7-worker army allowing Plako to REX to his heart's content. With BW and Pottery, he's got the essential techs for some time (Math is nice, but can wait; Writing will come in soon enough, as well), and can afford to be slowish at teching temporarily while he gets his economy running full steam ahead.
Also, it's really easy to underestimate how many troops it'll actually take to bring someone down. In PB2, you guys more-or-less had a 2v1. You sent an army, although forgot to send enough spears b/c you thought your phalanxes could handle chariots, which, while true, on T100 other troops can show up. Dantski sent an army. Athlete sent a token force, as did Nakor. Whosit screwed up, and his Praets came late and in the wrong spot b/c he forgot to check Open Borders.

7 workers is impressive for non-Exp this early, especially since you just fought a war and kicked WarlordDr's mismanagement back to the Early Stone Age.
And Pottery shouldn't be too far away; 4t at most?
Yo Cyneheard just be careful with this, Plako can win circumnav by just moving his warrior 1NE, he needs to figure it out himself.

Athlete didn't really send a token force. His mounted troops were the the most dangerous part of the COW's attack, according to India.

Welp he did just that. I probably just interpreted Plako's statement as "we're so close, but can't make it because of the water" instead of "we're so close, next turn!". Maybe I'm just paranoid.
Anyways, Plako just won Circumnav, has the most cities of everyone, the most workers of everyone, all his cities are triple-resource, he has a giant freshwater lake that provides 3/0/2 tiles, and his neighbours are both developmentally backwards. That's a pretty commanding position, the only issue may be harder access to the central jungles, but that will really only come into play in 50-80 turns time.

Only 3/0/2 tiles in that lake are the fish and whale. The rest are 2/0/2.
