A little good news from this turn: I found fish! Should make for a very good commercial west coast city. OR a good spot from which I can push out an early GS or two.
In other news.... Commodore completed a tech. Not going to watch demos closely enough to tell what.
And speaking of c&d, I changed from corn to cow this turn. Doesn't change any ETA's but does throw a bit of a monkey wrench into other teams' C&D meta games. Yes, I do play that way! :neenernee

So not a lot since the last screen shot. I've defogged 7 tiles, the fish being the most important. I figure I'll settle 1S of the warrior, chop the wb, whip granary and library, and then grow into cottages while working on a scientist or two. It's a pretty rough plan for now, but I like it!
I hope I find something nice by the ivory, though. (1) happiness and (2) proximity to capital for tile sharing makes me want a good strong ivory spot first. Time alone will tell....

Yeah. To be fair, though, I was baiting you into that comment. And because you bit, you must be the wolf. That whole thing reminds me a lot of the "wine in front of me" scene from Princess Bride... veeery fun.

So... assuming no hiccups, I will be in the same column as the ivory around T15. I added these productions ETAs to my reference post at the beginning:
ETAs:
Worker --> Beginning of T8
Warrior --> Beginning of T13
Partial warrior (grow to 3) --> Switch beginning of T15
worker --> Beginning of T 19
finish warrior --> Beginning of T20
Warrior ---> Beginning of T21
Also grow to size 4 BOT21
So, considering that I want to use the last warrior there and the second worker to help get the first settler growing, I want to have a good idea where to go by beginning of T20. I'll have good information in the south by then, and that means T13 warrior will want to explore by the gold. That way by T18 I will have a general idea of the lay of the land in all four corners, and can safely make my decision by the beginning of T20.
I can't keep the sandbox going too long, but it sure will help me adjust to quick speed.

Not much to say about today's turn. Due to geography I didn't even get any more visibility. Move warrior, end turn.

Wow, the save came around again, moments before I had to go to work. On my way out the door, but there's good news and bad news:
*EOT, AH came in. We have no horses revealed yet.
*I found another fish. The west coast sure is food-rich, will probably be able to support two cities on the coast from those two fishies.
Time for work, interviewing 3 job applicants today, and realizing I should have included a Civ-related question for throwing them off-balance!

Well, I've really fallen behind in post count. I guess that's a sign of what's to come - during my work week I'll post maybe once or twice a day and several times a day on my days off. So here's the first from my day off, complete with an up-to-date screenshot (plus potential city sites):
I simmed it out last night and unless something awesome is revealed in the fog, or something else happens (copper/horses/etc), I think red or blue should be the first city site. If I go BW-fishing and prioritize that city right, I should be able to get a GS around T50, while beginning to grow cottages there. It will be a strong enough commerce city to support the empire's early expansion.
With the ~T30 settler, I'll want to prioritize happiness. Right now it's looking like the second settler will either go to the gold or the ivory.
The white dots are placed very approximately. There's too much fog in the north and south to plan anything really until next week, but those dots confirm that I can get to 7 cities each with decent food and commerce potential. I'm thinking that I'll have to focus on production in the capital. There's more than enough food to make it a monster, and five hills will allow it to produce anything it wants to.
That's the thought process for now.
And a question: do you know approximately when barbs appear on prince/quick/small? And approximately when they enter borders? I once knew these tidbits, but it's been a long time and I'm forgetful.

Usualy you want your second city to be very close and very fast to develop so you can start fast on producing workers setlers there, even the site its not strong later.If I was you I would setle on top of the plain spices, you gain commerce and sheep its very fast to improve.
