So yeah I got talked into this duel by Lewwyn. I've kinda been looking to get a little fighting practice in, as I've yet to go to war in something like 300+ turns here at RB, but I suspect that will change soon enough. We wanted something sort of random and fun, so we just rolled a bunch of random leaders random civs random settings starts until we found something okay.

In this game, I'm Charlemagne of Babylon and he's DeGaulle of Arabia. I figure protective Bowmen should let me farmer's gambit as much as one can in duel AW, and maybe also get a choke of some value in.

Anyway, I went Mining-BW to be followed by Hunting-Archery then I'll start teching for real. Worker first, gonna do 2 warriors followed by chopping a 2nd worker then work on city 2 once I see Horses/Copper. My cap is a beast, here it is:

So we've played another 15T or so. My capital is an absolute monster. Between that and Bowmen, if I don't take him down/out in 20T I suck and should quit playing Civ forever. Feel a little bad about this actually. Anyway, I figured out where his capital is, and um, shouldn't have even bothered building a settler, just a stream of bowmen. That's all he's going to see from here on out, I'll tell you that much.

Just found out. He conceded when he saw the bowman, which probably for the best. If I had known the disparity, I wouldn't have played on. If I had known he was so close, I'd have killed him 10T ago.

Anyway, I'll take the cheap win, as we're just playing for fun - Lew and I get along pretty well and I don't think either one of us has anything to prove to the other, and we'll do a rematch with slightly fairer starts.

We rolled another start, so both people who actually care enough to check this out who aren't named Lewwyn or Gaspar (our wives perhaps? Actually, my wife couldn't care less come to think of it) here's the new start. Much fairer, though he has crappy Arabia again and I have slightly less crappy Sumeria. (Vultures are more acceptable on account of Agg.)

This is on Seven's Hall of Mirrors script, so we have identical starts. I think we both moved T1 for the PH.
