(As an aside, I don't mind the role play but just don't expect me to reciprocate) ;-)

I'm fine with a bounce in Galicia. We can talk in the fall as to whether or not it makes sense to bounce again or not, once we see what everyone has ordered for the spring. These first two seasons (Spring and Fall 1901) are always interesting because it seems like everyone is always saying everything to everyone and you never quite know who is ACTUALLY doing what ;-)

You think that Turkey will be gunning for Greece? That seems odd since typically Greece is Austrian at least that's what I thought. Obviously you can support yourself there in the fall if you order Tri-Alb and Bud-Ser, though that leaves yourself open to an attack on Italy should he choose to do so.

I hear what you're saying about an attack on Turkey but it's unlikely to happen this early - she was pretty clear that she was going to order to the Black Sea this spring, so I'd expect a bounce there. Still, if you support yourself to Greece this fall, we can likely pop his army in Bulgaria in Spring 02, and after that, we should be able to take the Aegean and Black Seas shortly thereafter.

Just some thoughts...

At this point I am leaning towards allying with Turkey and/or Italy, but I'm not opposed to workign with Austria if that's how it shakes out.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Lewyyn opens with the "Austrian Hedgehog" (Tri-Ven, Bud-Ser, Vie-Gal) which gives up the guarantee on Greece for a definite one build and not losing any home SCs in 1901.

Quote:Hi Rowain,

Sorry I missed your chat, I was away from my computer. So for an Austrian attack, the ideal moves would be either Ven-Tyl, Rom-Ven, or Ven-Tri, Rom-Ven. The fleet going to the Ionian and then into Tunis in the fall. The downside of that is that your fleet is one step away from Turkey, who would be your logical next target. You could still move your Roman army to Apulia and convoy to Tunis in the fall, though obviously that gives up some strength of an Austrian attack.

Lewyyn seems like he is playing things pretty safe, so he may just order the "Austrian Hedgehog" which includes F Tri-Ven, which makes it hard for you to make any gains in 1901. I definitely expect him to order to Galicia so we'll probably bounce there.

As for my north, it's still early on. I will be setting sail for Sweden and hope to be let in. England says he's taking Norway with a fleet, which is good, so I guess we'll see how things go

I had a couple of other strategy things I was going to suggest for an attack on Turkey but decided not to mention them until / if I decide who is my "true" ally here...

Quote:Hi Nakor,

How are things going? Germany doesn't seem to be that talkative, which is I guess a good thing. Seems like maybe an EF alliance is in the cards, which I think works well for both of us. Hopefully if that happens, I'll also be able to sort out the east in a favorable outcome, and then maybe the two of us could meet around 1905 in say...Edinburgh? :-D

I expect that Turkey and I will bounce in the Black Sea this spring, and probably another bounce in Galicia. It doesn't do a whole lot of good to start with the most units of everyone if half of them just sit there going nowhere!!!!!

What are your talks with Rowain / Italy like? He seems a pretty reasonable fellow, at least to me

Heh. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

I replied back to Turkey ( She had sent something saying that moving F Ank-Con would make the other 5 powers screaming juggernaught)

Quote:Yeah that makes sense I guess, so bounce it is! Also one of my dedlurkers pointed out that in my earlier email I referenced taking out Austria (and a good chunk of Turkey) when obviously I really meant Italy. I don't know if you noticed or not but thought I'd clarify

So when do the moves post anyways?

No, it's more like 1 hour, 15 minutes from now.

I thought he said it would take 3 hours and a quarter to process the turn after the time limit on the current turn expired. Maybe I misread and he simply meant that the turn would end then.
