Quote:Yeah bro. I be down to bounce in Gal again. You coming to Rum? Satin Sultana comin' guns blazin.

I gotta hold steady, get my build on.

How you comin' at 'er? How you gonna lock the Sultana down?

Don't know how I can make any headway against Turkey (or Austria for that matter) if we keep bouncing everywhere. If I think I can get away with it I may support myself to Gal

Quote:Funny thing is we didn't coordinate anything. At least I was not directly involved. But I did announce that I will move into PIE yesterday (~6 hours before deadline).
And that led to a long discussion with Nakor. Both uber and scooter knew that I would make that move. I still have no clue what those 3 have really negotiated and how they will play on. (England will most likely go into BEL) .
The move had several reasons: a) with Austria hedgehoging my armies had little to do. b) to avoid a surrounding of VEN, c) to prevent a french fleet in SPA sc + fleet built in MAR. oh and d) to anable PIE-TYR and yes a A VEN build has crossed my mind wink

But alot will depend how Diplo goes during the next 72 hours.

The east moved as expected I would say but out of interest what is your read of Amelia and Lewwyn?

Quote:What's funny is there wasn't exactly any 3-way conversations going on... Without getting into TOO many details, the fact that all the moves seem to have colluded this way was somewhat surprising to me as well. Some of them I knew about (like mine for instance!), some of them I didn't.

I actually would definitely not say he's guaranteed any builds. Sure he'll likely get 1, but every reach for a build (Spain/Portugal are the two reachable ones) are both risky. Portugal he gives up Brest if I go for it, and Spain he gives up Marseilles if Rowain goes for it. So really it's a guessing game for Nakor, and I wouldn't go inking him for 1-2 builds quite yet. The Spain one is probably fairly safe though given his position in Burgundy I'll admit, so perhaps you have a point.

All that said... Yes I am taking every option into consideration. I wouldn't at all say I'm hitched to anyone in particular yet, because France and Germany are clearly on opposite sides, so I'm in the nice position of being able to let things develop and go from there. Fortunate, really.

Either way, as long as you are serious about keeping things low-key between us in the north, I'm happy to stick with what we said regardless of who I end up siding with. All I want is Norway, and I'm happy to leave the north for you to figure out. I certainly don't plan on harassing St. Petersburg. For that reason, I'd actually hope to see you not using your center gains in order to, say, build a fleet in St. Petersburg wink. It's like any civ game really, I don't want pressure between us as we have more important things to do, but if you start mobilizing up there, it will understandably make me a little nervous. Communication is important here.

So enough about the west, the east is where the REAL intrigue is wink. How goes negotiations? Got yourself an alliance yet? A lurker asked me what I thought the moves meant in terms of alliances in the east, and I had some theories, but I admitted I wasn't sure... but I also said I figured there was no way that this many days have gone by without you cooking up some sort of deal with your neighbors, so I admit I'm curious on how things are playing out over there. Any idea who the odd man out will be?

Nothing yet from Germany which is one of the main reasons I said I'd prefer EF to FG

Quote:Well it's hard to lock down the Sultana when it seems like all of my units are bouncing every turn.... At some point if we're going to work together we're going to need to start moving them in other directions. Are you planning on bouncing me in Rumania?

And one to France

Quote:Eh - my preferred outcomes are EF or FG - EG is the worst-case for me because then they start going after Sweden and St. Pete, so this wasn't a great turn for me either. I'm working on England especially to swap sides but we'll see if they listen to me.

I'm sure you've seen this already but Mao-Bre, Bur-Mar, Mar-Spa guarantees you a build. Even Mao-Por guarantees you a build (you pick up Por too and potentially lose Bre), and maybe gets you 2 if England doesn't take a shot at Brest (which IMO is not a great move for him unless he KNOWS you're not going to move there)

Talk to you later

Quote:Yeah, I know. Rowain told me he would move to Pie, no problem there, though I really don't get that move.
Germany didn't tell me a lot, so his move to Bur was expected.
Scooter flat out lied to me, don't know what to do with him. Very hostile action from him after I agreed to give him support into Belgium...
Now scooter can take Belgium and Norway without a contest, so if I can convince him to do that, everything is possible.

Guess you're taking Rum and try for Sweden?

I'll wait a day to see if Scooter will make first contact again.
Rowain I can talk to easier since Austria moved to Venice, so he should move his army back.
Still hope to get 2 builds, but it will be tricky..

Would you consider moving War west towards Germany?

Quote:You are probably overstimating the amount of coordination involved here... Italy won't even tell me what he is doing with Piedmont and I expected our Burgundy move to 1-1 bounce. Given that England has opened anti-France and France has opened anti-Germany it is likely that we will side with England for now, but a lot can change in this game.

As for Sweden, I won't make excuses about other countries asking us to do it but just say that we might have to bounce you for now for our own protection - the prospect of an R/T alliance growing quickly against an uncoordinated A/I is, as always, a pretty scary one. Doesn't mean that we can't work together at all, just that if Russia grows too fast in this setup it's too easy for Russia to surround and kill Germany in the mid game. (Can't really see A+T cooperating to bounce you in Romania when Greece is open.)

I keep an open mind about these things so if you have an idea for what you could do with a second 1901 build that would help German interests I'm all ears smile

Looks like he might bounce us

First from Turkey

Quote:What if i support you to Rum instead? Gre can easily be taken next turn, and that way you get to go to Galicia without a problem.

Amelia.

Eh - not liking the tone of that. Especially given the following from Austria, which may or may not be true

Quote:Yo, Sultana be booty callin' fo support in Rum against you. And bro, you be right. WE need to pass the ball wit some teamwork. I be going Tri- Alb and Vie-Tri to come round da side of that Turkey. I got ya back in Rum ova the Sultana. Bring yo army Jus don't come at me in Gal, ya hear?

Quote:Well the problem with that is twofold

1) If I support myself to Galicia, and put the fleet in Rum, that really doesn't help us in 1902 vs. Austria. We really want the army in Rumania so that it can support you to Serbia and/or cut support in Budapest.

2) Perhaps I'm reading between the lines too much, but that leaves you pretty open to a) take the Black Sea and / or b) instead of supporting me into Rumania, bouncing me there (maybe even taking it with Austrian support?).

I think that I will support Ukr-Rum and since Austria is insisting on bouncing in Galicia, I'll use War to bounce him there. This does still risk you taking the Black Sea but there's not much I can do about that if you want it. Obviously if you are sincere in wanting to ally with me you'll move Ank-Con, and if you take the Black Sea then I will know that you're working against me.

If you'd like to support Ukr-Rum you can, but I think a move of Bul-Gre is likely to work and combined with Ank-Con allow you to get 2 fleets bordering the Ionian after Spring of next year

Quick note to France

Quote:Heard anything interesting out of scooter or uberfish? To answer your question, I probably am not going to be able to afford to send A War west, at least not this year. Austria is still wanting to bounce me in Galicia so I'll need to do that, otherwise I risk losing Rumania next year.

Trying to figure out my press to Austria - I think I need to go more "all in" with him at this point since Turkey's email is pretty much trying to set me up (unless I'm drastically misreading it)
