Quote:Well obviously you gotta do what you gotta do. My case for Sweden is that I'm starting to generally suspect an A/T alliance. Turkey was very chummy in spring 01 but now when I ask her about whether she wants to bounce in Black again, she suggests instead she will support me to Rumania. Which, sure, sounds nice, but also leaves me pretty vulnerable to a) her taking the Black Sea, and b) bouncing me in Rum instead of supporting me.

Which is all very well and good and maybe you already know about this and maybe even helped suggest it, for all I know.

But let me point out why me taking an early bath is not in your best interests - while you're right that Russia growing super fast is not always good for Germany, me going down by 1903 means that Austria is coming your way while you're still trying to get through the Maginot Line.

Anyways just some thoughts - if you've got restrictions on where and what you'd like me to build or not build if I do in fact also get Rumania, I'd probably be willing to agree to them.

I find it funny this talking about Sweden - back when I was playing online Dip pretty regularly, for the 34th entry of the "Diplomatic Pouch" (an online 'zine) they got 34 different community members to write 34 articles on each of the 34 supply centers.

So who wrote the one on Sweden? me lol

Quote:Okay that sounds good. I will order Ukr-Rum and War-Ukr. Just as a note, if you do end up moving to Galicia, I will very likely build A War, which I think is an ineffective usage of both of our resources.

I will have to figure out based on how I'm reading the scene whether Turkey is going to order to Bla, and I need to bounce her, or whether I will support Sev S A Ukr-Rum (on the chance you and Turkey cooperate to try and take Rum).

Does that sound good? What do you hear from Italy?

So you'll be moving to the Baltic if you can't convince him, then?

Eh. I don't know what a move to the Baltic would get me. Maybe I would if I felt more comfortable about the ART dynamic

I guess it lets you make Germany choose between Denmark and Sweden with his fleet, when he clearly wants to use his armies in France. But agreed that goings-on in the south seem more important just now.

If AT do ally, how feasible is it to encourage them to head west instead of north? Could all 3 of us head west? Seems like an unusual move tho.

Right now it seems possible that we're looking at T trying to play all sides against the middle rather than a firm partnership tho.

If that's the case, I can live with that; we're somewhat trying to play all sides against the middle.

However, finding a true ally and making it work is tempting.

West is looking to move fast with a full-blown EG alliance going on. Things in the east here are still dicey with nobody getting a clear advantage, though Austria is starting to look quite spread out. Their back door is quite open to Italy if they build in Bud and if not then their army in Gal has no support.

Are we building in War or are we worried about the north? One fleet up there can't accomplish too much on its own, unless we can make some kind of agreement with Germany about Sweden/Denmark/etc. and we are confident nobody will make a play for our northern areas. OTOH War is more likely to net us gains.

STP isn't in danger this year, if we move Bot-STP (once or twice, depending on whether or not we bounce). Sweden is a lost cause, frankly. With E and G working that closely, Swe will go to whoever doesn't get Paris.

So I think A War, and seeing if we can get Turkey to work with us to demolish Austria quickly (some Italy help would be nice, but they're in trouble if we go full Juggernaut, which we probably have to).

Interesting. I think A Sev and taking out Turkey. If we can convince Turkey to not build A Smy (and I've already emailed him to that effect), we can take Bul/Gre this year, and Con and Ank the year after that.

I think that's faster than we can take out Austria

Ok, if you think Austria can go for it, let's do that.
