Ok, let's see:

1) Paris is toast. Bre S Gas-Par can't be stopped. Also, it didn't matter whether or not Pie-Mar happened for Paris to be in trouble; Mar-Gas was still guaranteed to happen.
2) Turkey is in even worse shape. :2dance: We can't be dislodged from Ankara. There are a lot of options in how to best dismantle Turkey. That Ionian fleet really messes with things, though. Must ponder a bit.

Proposed moves for the 5 relevant units in the SE:
Gre H
Either Ser - Bul and Rum S, or Rum-Bul and Ser S Gre
Bla-Con
Ank-Smy

If Amelia goes after Greece with Aeg and Bul, and moves Con-Ank, then we walk into Con and Smy, and likely knock Amelia down to just Ank, which is then ours. Greece could be in trouble if it's Bul-Gre with Aeg and Ion support.

If we expect Con to support Bul instead, then we want Bla-Ank, Ank-Smy.

It was not. I misclicked the orders. It should be fixed now.

Quote:Things looking good for you - you guys outguessed France and now he's in some pretty deep trouble. So congrats on that!

So at what point do we start looking for the "next" move? Are you looking to stick with Germany for awhile now, or are you considering other options? I was looking at the map, and it seemed like you had a pretty good chance to stab Germany this fall.

I know you probably want to make sure France is taken care of, and I think that's normal. But the name of the game in Diplomacy is always looking 1-2 steps ahead.

Up to you though - if you want to continue working with Germany, then we can either discuss EGR options, or I'll start battening down the hatches :-). But if you were looking for something else, then you could order Swe-Den, along with not supporting him to Paris. He doesn't build, and in conjunction you move Lon-Nth, which means you'll easily take Belgium and Holland next year - he can't stop you and then you have a crippled France and Germany. Guess some of it depends on our relationship as well as your relationship with Italy - if you think he is willing to continue to work with you against France. To me he seems like he would he seems starved for centers

Anyways just a thought

Talk to you later

I had some brief chats with Italy this morning as well as a more substantial conversation with uberfish / Germany last night.

The one with uberfish was a good one - we explored some options for an RG alliance. Eventually we talked about maybe RGA, with moving on England potentially as soon as 1903 with him supporting me to Sweden in the spring and then following behind me as I take Norway in the fall.

Definitely something worth considering, but it means that we'll need to move Stp-Bot in the fall, which we probably want to do anyways

Quote:Well it looks like things went very well for us. With my Black Sea convoy, Turkey is definitely doomed and she'll be out of the game by 1903. Though I was a bit freaked out when somehow Sareln had me moving to Galicia instead of Silesia, but I'm glad that got worked out.

The real question is what next. Germany's move to Silesia was a known bounce, but I'm very nervous about his fleet move to the Baltic Sea. It's not going to Sweden, since England is there, so it seems like it has to come my way, right? I don't know if that qualifies as "know it when you see it" or not :-)

Do we give Italy Greece? If we can convince him not to order Wes-Spa (And allow France to thwart Bre S Gas-Par with Spa S Par-Gas), it might be worth it. Do you think you'll need to order Ser S Gre in case Italy and Turkey work together?

Anyway I should be around to chat later today and we can figure things out - where we go from here and such

And final note to Turkey

Quote:So....... :-) I don't like to apologize for stabs in Diplomacy since it's all part of the game and such. Still, I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of them and it's not very fun. I don't know if you're interested in any of my reasoning or not, so if not, feel free to ignore, but the big reason was just that you seemed like you were pretty busy in real life and not able to put in a whole lot of time to this game.

I don't know if that is fair or not or if I misread things but that was how I was seeing it.

In any case, if you just want to be done with this game or not. If you do, then that's cool it shouldn't be too much longer. If you do have some interest, I could ask Austria to support Aeg-Ion. Obviously I'm short on southern fleets, and it might be useful to have a forward fleet of yours in the Ionian. In exchange I could keep one of your center Turkish owned until you were able to pick up a more western one to exchange.

Dunno just a thought.

We'll see what she says...

So - did you change your orders several times, or use non-standard abbreviations, or what? I'm getting a tad confused what the actual state of the board is wink.

Yep, CLEARLY there is no need for any sort of automated order processor thing like regoarrarr asked for smoke

I get the thankless game admin job, and I think sereln has done an amazing job organizing and updating the game, but I don't see why the orders have to be processed by hands, especially if there are three corrections in a single turn.
