That's absolutely right. For your benefit, Commodore, I will note, that you do have to actually dislodge a fleet to disrupt a convoy. While attacking (but not dislodging) a fleet would cut a fleet's support if it were doing a support action, it would not disrupt a convoy action unless the fleet is dislodged. That's a misunderstanding I see a lot with new players.

Oh-ho! Now that's interesting. So a convoy is also in a sense holding. Now how shall this be exploited...
Oh. Germany. Never mind. I don't suppose a fleet in Denmark could convoy into Sweden?

A: No. Fleets in coastal provinces are never allowed to convoy, only fleets in sea provinces may do so.
EDIT: One last helpful thing on convoys. You can "chain convoy" For example. An army in Kie can be convoyed to Hel, and from Hel to Nth, and from Nth, to Edi all in one turn, as an example. Finally, another geography note, Berlin is NOT adjacent to Denmark. (I think I've covered all the convoy/unique geography in the German area now, but if you have more questions, feel free to ask.)

So, pending anything massively shaking things up, plan is:
A ber-kie
F kie-hol
A mun holds
This sets up flexible in the west while building up enough goodwill from Gaspar to hopefully grab vie next year.

OK, I'm confused by your sig. Are you saying that E and D equals F? By my calculation, it should be C. If it were E *or* D, on the other hand, F would be the correct result.

No, no, he's saying that D + 2 = F. And it's awesome.

OK, Mardoc, that makes sense now. I just couldn't make the leap from "and" to "plus" - those are completely different operations when my brain is in hex mode.

Well, that went fairly swimmingly. The Great Austria division is going nicely, as I sat still and then moved one, which somehow entitles me to some of the spoils.
Meanwhile, Jkaen is utterly shut out and I see no reason for him to ever get more than three units this game. It will be slow and annoying to take him out, but by '03 (baring stabs) I think England ought to be Grey...and France should be getting pressure from Italy by then.

So I've been bad about updating, I know. But, to be fair, I've been fairly taciturn in my diplo as well. I sent this off this morning to Bob/Gaspar. My paranoia will go up two points for every hour they delay response.
Quote:[COLOR="Silver"]Gents,
Looks like this should be England's last hurrah this turn if we can coordinate this right. My thoughts:
Gaspar, do you mind waiting one more season to get Norway? If both of your Fleets can support my F Hel -Nth this spring, then his support is cut and I can easily support you into Nor in the fall.
Bob, you have two interesting options. On the one hand, you can support yourself into the channel without issue if you'd like, and have at least a shot at London in the fall. More interesting, however, would be to move your Mao fleet into the Irish Sea while trying to go in unsupported with the Brest fleet. Then in the fall you have a 100% sure chance of taking Liverpool (I know the initial plan was for me to take Edi/Lvr and you Lon, but this would work too, right?) Either by convoy or at worst by boat.
Here's to wars going well,

Nothing much else popping. I'm honestly kind of floating here as having to do an unusual amount of actual work and war in PBEM 19 take up more of my time/attention.

Yup. I make comments about being worried about Bob. Bob posts in his thread, not emailing back. Lurker thread has gone active. Bur was not a bumble.
So, stab anyone?
