Ok a couple of interesting things happened
1) England offered to vassalize to us but this turned out to be a lie, the motive was to get information on what we were doing. In any case we are picking up Norway, and Brest and Belgium are no longer under serious threat so the outcome is satisfactory. I'm actually surprised he did not go through with the vassalization plan, because if he just tries to stall in the UK the eastern powers have no motive to include him in a draw, whereas if he held Iberian/Mediterranean SC and wanted to switch sides late in the game he might be difficult to eliminate without risking a German win.
2) We managed to get non-interference from Russia in Scandinavia (by requesting his fleet holds) in return for disrupting Austria's attack on him this turn. The Italian/Turkish move into Greece was totally unexpected and caused a significant shift in the balance of power though
3) The main purpose of the army in Silesia is not so much to take Warsaw but to try and influence events in the east to stop a coalition forming against us. Supporting Austria last year motivated Italy to stop sitting on the fence because he couldn't just sit on 6 SC while Austria grew. This turn, since Austria appeared to have the upper hand and was trying to negotiate a vassalization pact with Russia, it seemed sensible to slow him down. Now that Italy has stabbed Austria earlier than expected, we should switch back to helping Austria.
4) England may have a pact (or think he has one) with Italy where Italy orders GAS-PAR to cut support and England takes Brest. This is probably what he was hoping for actually.
