[SPOILERS] Bismarck of Mali (NobleHelium and Lewwyn)

This post will be a running count of the C&D. Mostly I need to go back to each save and see whether there were score increases since Lewwyn doesn't include the scores in his demo pictures.

Turn 14: Jkaen got 6 points, Buddhism is founded. So he researched Meditation at EOT 13 after I played, as I previously said.

Jkaen got Buddhism here, and the holy city is obviously worth 5 culture (and thus GNP). His GNP was previously 19. However since Meditation finished he lost the 2 bonus GNP from researching a prereq tech. So net change in GNP from previous turn is 3, representing the high GNP of 22. Kuro's GNP likely stayed at 21, and Ellimist's stayed at 19. That adds up to 62, which rounds down to 20 average.

Turn 15: No score changes.

Big demos changes here. Ellimist (and us) hooks up the farm, sending him to 8 CY (and 88 life expectancy). Jkaen remains at 7 CY, and Kuro at 5 CY. GNP remains the same from last turn, so Jkaen must be researching a no-prereq tech now after Meditation.

Turn 16: Jkaen got 7 points, Ellimist got 6 points. They both gained a pop.

Pop increases affect the demos a lot. High GNP goes to 24. Jkaen's third pop probably got placed onto the fish by the governor, increasing his GNP to 24 and his CY to 9, both rival highs. Ellimist's governor-placed citizen is a little weird, since his CY is at most 9 (was previously 8 at 1 pop with the corn). So his governor probably gave him a 1/2 forest tile, which is reasonable given my intuitions about the governor. That matches the high 4 MFG, and if Jkaen's gov put him on the fish his MFG stays at 3. Kuro remains at the 2 MFG. His corn is hooked up on this turn.

Turn 17: No score changes.

Only change here is CY. This should be Jkaen finishing his work boat at EOT last turn, and hooking up the fish this turn. Rival worst life expectancy (obviously him since he has the most pop) also went up, matching a change from 7/10 to 8/11 perfectly. So he must have hooked up the fish here. And this also means Ellimist is still working the governor-recommended 1/2 forest tile to presumably build his work boat.

Turn 18: Kuro gained 6 points from a tech.

For the demos, this means Kuro lost his multiplier bonus. His GNP was previously 21, Ellimist's was 19, and Jkaen's was 24. Losing the prereq bonus drops him down to 19, which drops the average down to 20 from 21. Top soldiers went up 8k, from Kuro researching BW (this looks reasonable from an estimate, since he researched Fishing before we got Agriculture and he's been working the corn the entire time). Nobody else got any more soldiers, so there are STILL no warrior builds (notably from Jkaen).

Turn 19: No score or demographics changes. That means Kuro is now researching a no-prereq tech. I would guess Hunting for the ivory. Still no warrior from Jkaen. Unless he...built a scout? That's probably slightly better than building Henge at the start of the game... (for both of us, lol)

Okay so it seems Kuro should have grown by now if he were growing after worker. So he might be building a second worker (or a settler) like us to chop stuff. [strike]That's a little odd, I thought he would go WB next and chop it with only one worker, since he researched Fishing.[/strike] Or, you know, he actually didn't. Lost track of everything due to the blitz, geez.

Opponents and techs researched so far. Guessed next tech in italics.

Kuro
Agriculture, Wheel, Mining, Bronze Working, Fishing

Ellimist
Fishing, Mining, Agriculture, Bronze Working

Jkaen
Hunting, Mysticism, Fishing, Meditation, Agriculture or Mining

And copper is revealed...in an unsurprising location...

Offshore but in plain view. Logical location. I wouldn't be surprised if horses were similar (plenty of grassland tiles along the shore for it, probably directly south of the capital I would guess), so we could definitely research Sailing sooner and get going on exploring the mainland before going Hunting -> AH.

Apparently land points are awarded pretty weirdly, it seems to be on the turn rollover rather than individually per person. I already had my land points given at the start of my turn, and at the end of last turn I didn't have them. That isn't too surprising since the land point delay was implemented in a patch to fix (real-time) multiplayer exploits on the last turn.

Anyhow, everyone got their inner ring points (10), and we and Ellimist both researched Bronze Working. Still no increase in soldier points for Jkaen, so definitely either a scout or Stonehenge start (or something even weirder like barracks...).

The 5 MFG should be Ellimist finishing their mine on their nonforested hill. Their work boat isn't done yet I guess, they must be working the mine and the corn, for a total of 9 CY. Plus Kuro's 8 CY and Jkaen's 11 CY makes a 9.3 -> 9 average. Also, rival worst GNP went down to 18. That should be Ellimist's mine being on a river (just like our hills), since they also finished their tech and lost the 2 GNP prereq bonus, but gained one back.

I assume you're busy lately since I haven't seen you post at all anywhere really.

Reminder to tech Mysticism next. I hope Jkaen built a scout. bang

A little redundant, but...

We'll swap to Slavery after the settler finishes. I put a sign as a reminder, I forget civic switches a lot. bang

Ellimist also grew to 3. Jkaen got another tech. It's Agriculture since he didn't get any soldier points, and he wasn't working on a prereq tech. Hopefully that means he went scout -> work boat -> worker, heh. We'll know soon enough if he doesn't grow again.

Ellimist and Jkaen are now both at 11 CY (average of 10 and low of 8 requires it). For Ellimist that must be the corn + river grassland mine + a 2/1 forest placed by the governor at EOT. That matches with the new 6 top MFG and the worst GNP being the same at 18. So that means Ellimist is researching a no-prereq tech. That could be Hunting for the ivory or Mysticism for religion (or monuments I guess), or Wheel so that they can follow up with Pottery. Wheel is probably the best move now that I think about it, they have both arrows for Pottery and can get it fast.

I really need to just organize all the C&D and track everyone's worked tiles and GNP/MFG/CY count turn-by-turn instead of doing it in verbose format. The fact that there are only four players makes this possible. No time for that today though, maybe over the weekend.

Hey, FYI I'm going to be extremely busy the next few days and won't be able to help with the save or comment until maybe tuesday. Too much work.

Ellimist's MFG went back down to 5, and his GNP is at least 20, up from 18. And top CY is now 14, which must be the fish + corn + mine. So his work boat finished and he's working the fish instead of the 2/1 forest now. Life expectancy went up in correlation.

No other changes. Kuro got second ring land points. Jkaen is still at 5000 soldiers, and started on a no-prereq tech. Most likely Mining.

I have created the C&D spreadsheet here. It should be accurate (I hope). The demographics numbers will not match up 100% with the screenshots because the numbers in the table show the real numbers that took effect on that turn, and not numbers that show up in the demos due to post-end-turn changes by the governor or growth or tech completion. The numbers in the columns on the right are calculated with formulas, so if there's a number off there then that means one of the guesses is incorrect.
