Crossing my fingers for some good stuff this fall. Either that or we're even more screwed than we already are

That went pretty well... except Germany getting even more dominant of course.
I'm thinking if A disbands Rum, Ukr, Bud he is still in good shape to put some heat on G with Pru-Ber (support from War). He might disband Ser instead of Bud if he really doesn't want Gre, I guess. Not sure about an attack on I though. Send something to Apu or try to push through the north? With the fleet to cut support from Ven he might want to attack Vie->Tyr first.
In the spring we can probably do Bul S Con->Smy and Bla -> Con. In the fall we can support A into Greece (or take it ourselves with A's support but I think the former might make more sense if we want A to remain a reasonably strong partner and assume he won't stab again.)
For our builds we want F Stp certainly, probably on the north coast I'm guessing. Do we want another army in Mos or a fleet in Sev? I'm guessing E's Bar fleet is done for this time but we might be able to push into Scandanavia ourselves with the A Mos route. Or we might need it to defend the north from G fleets if he's decided E is weakened enough for now.

F StP NC and A Mos makes the most sense to me; F Sev is so far from the action and rather blocked right now; we're likely to get a build next year, I suspect, so we can build F Sev next year when it's a little less cluttered. And all those German fleets worry me up north.

He's probably going to build A Ber anyway so yeah, I like A Mos better this year.

You can see I was not lying when I said SHORT diplo...

Note to rowain
Quote:Well... it wasn't so much that I cut a deal with Austria as he told me he was sick of playing. I wasn't really sure that he was actually telling the truth on that but apparently he was. In my state, I had to take the chance...
But I don't think that means that you and I can't be friends. Austria's on the way out, we can divide him up however we see fit. I definitely still recognize that 10 center uberfish poses. First step seems like disentangling ourselves in the east. As I recall, Turkey (Smyrna) was supposed to be mine, right? So maybe something like I take Smyrna this year as you take Greece?
Thoughts on builds?

Our order of goals:
1) Solo win
2) Two-way draw with Germany
3) Three-way draw with Germany and Italy (England and Austria can be crushed essentially at leisure...although for Portugal to fall, it'll require a Germany fleet to end things)
Note: A three-way draw is unstable, because there's room for a two-vs.-one stab...but see more below.
For the lurkers/Zed/etc.:
How would a two-way draw work? This would be an infamous 17-17 draw. For Germany and Russia, our best bet is probably:
Tyr/Boh/Gal/War/Mos with Ukr and Sev providing defensive support. This is relatively easy. We wouldn't be able to press any farther north than that, but that's only 7 of up to 17 units needed to defend.
We'd need Italy and Tunisia. This is not. Grabbing all of those before Rowain hands over himself too easily...and we'd really want to grab Piedmont to cut our western lines way down. Piedmont forces an extra army to defend Tyr, and we'd really want 3 units able to hit Pie to be able to knock it out.
How many centers:
3 Russian (StP can't be held against a mass of German fleets)
3 Turkey
3 Austrian
3 Italy
1: Tunis
4: Rum, Bul, Ser, Gre
Total: 17.
So, if it's a 3-way draw, how could it break down?
1) IR vs. G: This is likely to stall and go nowhere...until a German fleet comes in and breaks Spa/Mar.
2) IG vs. R: Italy won't be playing to win at that point...and is better off trying to force a 3-way draw.
3) GR vs. I: This probably requires us and Germany to be working on a 17-17 draw. Then it mostly becomes a race for Tunis. If Germany gets it, they win. If we get it, we draw.

Italy responded
Quote:As long as there is a F SEV built I'm ok with anything you build.
Given the situation Germany will attack either me or you soon. And if I judge his self bounce in MUN right it is me he will attack. And if we 2 don't work together uberfish will win.
I do remember that TUR is yours but it is possible that I need SMY this year else I might be forced to disband a Unit.
If Lewwyn is now sick of playing he clearly didn't heed the warnings that were posted in the Pre-game thread. Still the question remains to what did you agree to get him move like he did? (Well I can guess that it involves unpleasantness for Italy )

I looked, and looked and double checked, but then he ruined things by sending a followup email saying "I meant NOT a build of F Sev"
Still I'm wondering if we can use this as an excuse.

I guess the first question is whether we stab A or allow them to pressure I, if we think G will help themselves to a piece of the I pie from France. They still have to keep pressure on E with those units at least to some extent, yes?
If I is worried about a G stab doesn't it make sense to encourage that with the hope of paralyzingly them a bit? Rowan has to know that A is after him and that he's not going to be shy about advertising he's on the warpath, that will probably make G smell blood.
I'm glad not to be a principal player, methinks. This game is awfully cold-blooded.
