Quote:Hi Scooter,
My unsolicited advice would be to watch for a convoy of A Bel (maybe to Yor, maybe even to Clyde). With the caveat that I have no idea what Uberfish will actually do, I think I'd order Edi-Cly, Lon-Yor, Eng-Nth (to cut support or try to bounce a followup move if he does order Nwg S Nth-Edi, which seem like likely moves)
Unfortunately there's not a whole lot you can do to stop Nwg S Bel-Edi, if that's what he's doing.
Ooh wait - I forgot about your handy fleet in the Barents!
So you can actually guarantee you hold Edi with Eng-Nth, Bar-Nwg, Edi H (or support one of those moves), and then I would move Lon-Yor to block the convoy.
Just some thoughts...

Quote:Hey, Yes I had thought of those three as well, (four if you count taking Ven in the spring, but that is not good for the fall). Convoy was my first choice as well. I would follow the convoy with Bud into Tri so that we can pressure from there.
I was going to suggest Bul support Bla-Con. Then SMY in the fall.
What do you think of Convoy in the spring then Tyr in the fall? I can use Apu to go to a different SC make him guess. Thing is I'd like to get a build this fall in order to keep pushing. What do you think about that? If I have one army in Italy, ser, tri, vie and my fleet in Adr, I will feel vulnerable to Germany coming over the top. You're going to need to keep your army in War after all.
I'm pretty sure you can guarantee SMY this fall. What are your chances in Scandinavia? And if it doesn't look like I'll be able to take an Italian SC, chances that I could take Gre this fall for a build this year?
and italy

I have a good chance to get kicked out of ION in spring so I would like to get GRE as replacementcenter for TUN/NAP when this happens. So I will move SMY-AEG in spring.

I'm thinking maybe we do move Con-Bul instead of Con-Ank - it keeps Italy more "onside" and we can still possibly move Con-Smy in the fall (though not with support).
Also confused by Austria - I thought he wanted to quit! Why's he want to build then!

Quote:A build?!?!?!? How is that ever going to get you out of this game? :-P Or is working with me so awesome and invigorating that you're back in the swing of things?
I'm fine in theory with you getting a build. When working with a good ally, I like to figure things out in the fall as to where it makes the most sense to build. Is another southern fleet needed? Or an army in Warsaw to stall Germany? Or something in Sev to secure Turkey? etc. etc.
In Scandinavia, Germany does not seem to be following through on his offer of Norway from a few years (which was not unexpected). Honestly I think I'll be doing good if I can keep St. Pete.
I think the convoy is the right move if it works. I just don't know if a) Rowain will see it, or b) try to block it. The move to Tyrolia in spring is solid because it allows you to guarantee Venice in the fall. I don't know if he will move Mar-Pie for more defense or not which might shorten the window. Or Germany could put a unit in Munich and interfere. Hmm I think I'm talking myself into the Tyrolia options....
Also shared a few emails with Italy about moves. He wants us to move our armies to Bul and Rum and support him to Greece in the fall.

Well we are going to have to stab either A or I soon... I thought we stood a reasonable chance of getting both Smy (spring) and Gre (fall) for ourselves this year if we acted quickly in support of A. We are still firm on stabbing I, right? It would certainly be better if we could get 2 centers out of the bargain, but is that being unrealistic?

Right we're stabbing I.
We will take Smy and then an Austrian center maybe Bud. Have to see how the spring plays out.

Ok so something like
Bul s Con -> Smy
Bla -> Con
Rum s Ser -> Gre? Are we trying to work with A to keep viable or just stabbing him? If the latter then something else of course. Maybe Gal s Rum Hold, or Rum S Bul -> Gre.
Dunno what we are doing in the north. Sitting pat so we don't antagonize G? I guess.

Bul can't support Con into Smy, because Bul can't move into Smy.
Same for Rum S Ser-Gre: You have to be able to move into the target province, not the starting province, to support an army.
